Mrs. Garcia’s students were asked to find 220% of 75. Each of the students had a different method. Amy: “I multiplied 2.20 by 75

to find my answer.” Braden: “I created a table with columns for 100%, 100%, 20%, and 220%. Then I filled in the table and added the values.” Colton: “I created a table with columns for 100%, 10%, 10%, and 220%. Then I filled in the table and added the values.” Danielle: “I divided 75 by 5 to find 20%. Then I added 75 twice to what I found to get my final answer.” If all of the students completed their steps accurately, which student got the answer wrong?

Answer:

Colton was wrong

Step-by-step explanation:

MRs. Garcia’s students were asked to find 220% of 75.

Amy multiplied 75 by 2.20 which is perfect since 220% =2.2

Next is Braden:

He created table for 100, 100 and 20% and added. This will be equivalent to finding 220%

Colton created table for 100, 10 and 10 percent and added these.

But this addition would result in 100+10+10 =120%only not 220%

HEnce Colton is wrong.

Danielle divided 75 by 5 to get 20%. Then he took 75 for each 100%

He was also right.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy was built between 1173 and 1350. A. Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the yellow
mote1985 [20]

Answer:

The answer is below

Step-by-step explanation:

From the image of the leaning tower of Pisa, we can see that it passes through the point (7.75, 0) and (10.75, 42).

a) The equation of a line in slope intercept form is given by y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the intercept. Also, the equation of line passing through

(x_1,y_1)\ and\ (x_2,y_2)\ is:\\\\y-y_1=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} (x-x_1)

Hence since it passes through  (7.75, 0) and (10.75, 42), the equation is:

y-0=\frac{42-0}{10.75-7.75} (x-7.75)\\\\y=14(x-7.75)\\\\y=14x-108.5

b) When the tower is 56 meters tall, i.e. y = 56, we need to find the value of x:

y = 14x - 108.5

56 = 14x - 108.5

56 + 108.5 = 14x

164.5=14x

x = 164.5/14

x = 11.75

When the tower is 56 meters tall, the top of the tower is 11.75 m off center

What are the zeros of the function f(x) = x2 + 5x + 5 written in simplest radical form? Quadratic formula: x = x = x = x = x =
irinina [24]
X²+5x+5 has zeroes given by x=(-5±√25-20)/2=(-5±√5)/2=-1.3820 and -3.6180.
In simplest radical form the zeroes are -5/2+√5/2 and -5/2-√5/2.

The radius of the circular lens of a magnifying glass is 4 centimeters.
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer: 50.24 square centimeters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The radius of the circular lens of a magnifying glass = 4 centimeters

The area of a circle is given by :-

\text{Area}=\pi r^2, where r is the radius of the circle.

Then the area of the circular lens of a magnifying glass is given by :-

\text{Area}=\pi (4)^2=(3.14)(16)=50.24\text{ square centimeters }

Hence, the area of the circular lens of a magnifying glass = 50.24 square centimeters.

A rectangle has an area of 256 cm 2 . it has a width that is 48 cm shorter than 4 times its length. what is the rectangle's leng
AveGali [126]
Let
x--------> <span>the rectangle's length
y-------> </span><span>the rectangle's width

we now that
Area of rectangle=x*y
Area=256 cm</span>²
<span>256=x*y-------> equation 1

y=4x-48------> y=4x-48------> equation 2

substitute equation 2 in equation 1

256=x*[4x-48]-----> 256=4x</span>²-48x
4x²-48x-256=0
<span>
using  a graph tool----> to resolve the second order equation
see the attached figure
the solution is
x=16 cm
y=4x-48----> y=4*16-48-----> y=16 cm

is a square

the answer is
</span>the rectangle's length is 16 cm

Suppose a term of a geometric sequence is a4 = 121.5 and the common ratio is 3. write the formula for this sequence in the form
9966 [12]
The rule of the <span>geometric sequence is a* r^{n-1}
a ⇒⇒⇒ </span><span>the first term
r ⇒⇒⇒ </span><span>common ratio

Given: the fourth term </span>(a4) <span>= 121.5   and the common ratio = 3  and   n = 4

∴</span><span> 121.5 = a* 3^{4-1}
∴ a = 121.5/3³ = 121.5/27 = 4.5

So, T</span><span>he formula for this sequence will be</span><span>    4.5 * 3^{n-1}</span>
