Okay so first you know that the dad can do it in 5 days and together they can do it in 3. so that's 1/5 for the dad and 1/3 together and x for the son. so the equation would be 1/5 + 1/x = 1/3. Then subtract 1/5 to the other side and that would be 2/15, then multiply the x to 2/15 so the equation now would be
1 =(2/15)x. The final answer is 15/2 which is 7 1/2 days. <span />

<u>Answer:</u>

Option D is the correct answer.

D. This is a linear function because there is a common difference of 2.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Linear function--

A function is said to be linear if the rate of change is constant.

i.e. the function is increasing by a fixed constant.

Here the table is given by:

Hour (x) Number of Customers f(x)

   1                2

   2                  4

   3                  6

From the table of values we observe that as the value of increasing by 1 the value of y is increasing by 2.

i.e. the rate of change is constant i.e. 2.

Also, the common difference is 2.

Since,

4 - 2 = 2

and

6 - 4 = 2

Hence, the table represents a linear function.

Law Incorporation [45]

Answer: 6.2 m/s

Explanation:

1) This is a projectile motion (parabolic)

2) Velocity:

i) initial velocity = V₀

ii) Horizontal component:

V₀x = V₀ cos α

The horizontal velocity is constant, so Vx = V₀x

ii) Vertical component:

V₀y = V₀ sin α

The vertical component is linear with acceleration = g ≈ 9.8 m/s²

Vy = V₀y - gt = V₀ sin α - gt

3) Displacement equations

i) Horizontal displacment:

x = V₀ cosα t

ii) Vertical displacement:

y = V₀ sin α t - g t² / 2

y ≈ V₀ sin α t - 4.9 t²

4) Solution

i) x = V₀ cosα t = V₀ cos(32°) t = 2.00 m ← salmon starts 2.00m from a waterfall

⇒ V₀ = 2 / [cos(32°) t ]

ii) y = V₀ sin α t - 4.9 t² = V₀ sin(32°) t - 4.9 t²

iii) Replace V₀ with 2 / [cos(32°) t ]

y = sin(32°) × 2 / [cos(32°) t ] × t - 4.9t² = 2 tan(32°) - 4.9t²

iv) Use jump's height (y = 0.55m) and solve

⇒ 0.55 = 2 tan(32°) - 4.9t²

t² = [2 tan(32°) - 0.55 ] / 4.9 = 0.143 s²

⇒ t = √ (0.143s²) = 0.38 s

v) Use V₀ = 2 / [cos(32°) t ] to find V₀

V₀ = 2 / [cos(32°) (0.38) ] = 6.2 m/s

Which are the solutions of x2 = –11x + 4? StartFraction negative 11 minus StartRoot 137 EndRoot Over 2 EndFraction comma StartFr
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

x_1=-\frac{11}{2}-\frac{\sqrt{137} }{2}\\\\x_2=-\frac{11}{2}+\frac{\sqrt{137} }{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following quadratic equation:

x^2 = -11x + 4

The steps to solve it are:

1. Move the terms to one side of the equation:

x^2+11x- 4=0

2. Apply the Quadratic formula x=\frac{-b\±\sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a}.

In this case we can identify that:

a=1\\b=11\\c=-4

Then, substituting these values into the Quadratic formula we get the following solutions:

x=\frac{-11\±\sqrt{11^2-4(1)(-4)} }{2(1)}

x_1=-\frac{11}{2}-\frac{\sqrt{137} }{2}\\\\x_2=-\frac{11}{2}+\frac{\sqrt{137} }{2}

The product of two rational numbers is -28/75. If one of the numbers is 14/25, find the other
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

-3/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the missing number

  • x*\frac{14}{25} = \frac{-28}{75}
  • x = \frac{-28}{75} * \frac{25}{14}          inverse 14/25 since it's a fraction
  • x = \frac{-28*25}{75*14}
  • x = \frac{-4*7*25}{25*3*7*2}          write 75 as 25*3 and -28 as -4*7 to simplify
  • x = \frac{-4}{6}            -4 is left on the top and 6 = 3*2
  • x = \frac{-3*2}{2*2}
  • x=   \frac{-3}{2}
