Erika and Rita have added a 1-mile walk to their daily exercise schedule. The table lists the time each of them took to walk the

1-mile distance over the past five days. Erika’s Time (in minutes) Rita’s Time (in minutes) 20 21.25 21.5 24.75 22.75 23 23.25 23 20.25 20.75 On average, it takes Erika about minute(s) per mile less than Rita.

There are two sets of data: Erika's and Rita's. Now, we have to find the average values for each of both and compare them. I would assume that the order of the presentation of data points is alternating, first for Erika followed by Rita. To illustrate what I mean, let's say in Day 1, Erika's time is 20 and Rita's time is 21.25. In Day 2, Erika's time is 21.5 and Rita's is 24.75. And so on and so forth. The complete tabulation is shown in the picture.

Erika's average = (20+21.5+22.75+23.25+20.25)/5 = 21.55
Rita's average = (21.25+24.75+23+23+20.75)/5 = 22.55

On average, Erika is much slower than Rita by 1 minute.

A stadium asked for $760,000 for naming rights. During a bidding war for the stadium naming rights, one company bid 7% more than
alex41 [277]

Answer:

\$\ 829464

Step-by-step explanation:

Bid of first company:

Bid is 7\% more

7\% of 760000=\frac{7}{100}\times760000=53200

Bid of first =760000+53200=813200

Bid of second company:

Bid of second is 2\% greater than that of first

2\% of first bid =\frac{2}{100}\times 813200=16264

Hence Bid of second company =813200+16264=829464

(Ross 5.15) If X is a normal random variable with parameters µ " 10 and σ 2 " 36, compute (a) PpX ą 5q (b) Pp4 ă X ă 16q (c) PpX
pochemuha

Answer:

(a) 0.7967

(b) 0.6826

(c) 0.3707

(d) 0.9525

(e) 0.1587

Step-by-step explanation:

The random variable <em>X</em> follows a Normal distribution with mean <em>μ</em> = 10 and  variance <em>σ</em>² = 36.

(a)

Compute the value of P (X > 5) as follows:

P(X>5)=P(\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{5-10}{\sqrt{36}})\\=P(Z>-0.833)\\=P(Z

Thus, the value of P (X > 5) is 0.7967.

(b)

Compute the value of P (4 < X < 16) as follows:

P(4

Thus, the value of P (4 < X < 16) is 0.6826.

(c)

Compute the value of P (X < 8) as follows:

P(X

Thus, the value of P (X < 8) is 0.3707.

(d)

Compute the value of P (X < 20) as follows:

P(X

Thus, the value of P (X < 20) is 0.9525.

(e)

Compute the value of P (X > 16) as follows:

P(X>16)=P(\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{16-10}{\sqrt{36}})\\=P(Z>1)\\=1-P(Z

Thus, the value of P (X > 16) is 0.1587.

PLEASE HELPPPP , WILL GIVE BRAINLIESTTTTT
insens350 [35]

Answer:

80%

Step-by-step explanation:

What I did was just play with the numbers. But first, you'd multiply 6.00 time 3 because it's for the three people. Then just multiply 18 with .8 and bingo! The answer you get is 14.40, so the discount would be 80%

Hope this helps!

Nathan flew 3,547 miles from Canada to California during the first part of his trip. He flew 2,567 miles from California to Hawa
AURORKA [14]

Difference in the number of miles Nathan flew between the first and second parts of his trip is 980 miles

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that Nathan flew 3,547 miles from Canada to California during the first part of his trip

He flew 2,567 miles from California to Hawaii during the second part of his trip

Therefore,

first part of his trip = 3547 miles

second part of his trip = 2567 miles

Difference in the number of miles Nathan flew between the first and second parts of his trip is given as:

difference = first part of his trip - second part of his trip

difference = 3547 - 2567 = 980

Therefore, the difference in number is 980 miles
