The author best reveals that Iqbal was courageous by describing his actions. The author tells us that Iqbal took the knife that they used to cut the ends of the knots, raised it above his head, and seemed to look at each of them in the eye. Afterwards, he calmly turned and cut the carpet from top to bottom, right through the middle. By describing these actions, the author characterized Iqbal as brave and courageous.

Xelga [282]

Answer: C. I look forward to working with a woman doctor soon.

Bias refers to an unfair prejudice a person has towards a particular group, person or thing. In this sentence, the author is showing a gender bias, as he prefers to work with women than with men. Whether that is a "positive" stereotype (women are more capable, they work harder, etc.) or a negative one (women are more attractive, easier to control, etc.), it gives an unfair advantage to one gender over the other one with no fair justification. Therefore, it  is to be discouraged in the workplace.

The correct answer is indignant.

Being indignant means being angry or furious when you feel that something is unjust or outrageous, In this instance, Mrs. Fletcher is furious and outraged (indignant) that Mrs. Pike, who does not even know her (Mrs. Fletcher), knows about her pregnancy. Her indignance is further exemplified when she says, "The nerve of some people!".
