It might be pointed out, that Beowulf main characteristics is his pride because he is willing to show how important he is for the world. He is able to show his strength at battle by obstenting his way of fighting. Moreover, the idea of loyalty is present which motives him and gives him virtue because he wants to gain reputation and honor. What is more, generosity and Hospitality are also present in this story when he  defeats Grendel and his mother, the king offers him many things as rewards from his job. <span>
