Answer:

The answer is "Increased carbon Dioxide levels have made the oceans more alkaline.

Explanation:

Google states "In the natural environment carbonate alkalinity tends to make up most of the total alkalinity due to the common occurrence and dissolution of carbonate rocks and presence of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere."

The current increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is as a result of human activities that began in the late 1700s. This period sparked the beginning of the Industrial Revolution and this is when we began to use fossil fuels. The burning of fossil fuels coupled with widespread global deforestation has led to a rise in CO2. Excess carbon dioxide in the oceans causes it to become more acidic. This acidity will affect marine species with shells like mussels and lobsters.

The F2 generation phenotypes for each cross are shown in Table 1. (See attachment) Which of the following is the mean number per cross of F2 generation offspring that are the result of crossing over?

Answer:

B, 2.2

Explanation:

The parental genotypes are long and black vs short and white. Therefore the phenotypes that result from crossing over are long and white, and short and black. (middle two rows of the table). If we add up the total number of offspring with these genotypes we get 6 long whites, and 5 short blacks.

The total is 11 from 5 crosses, so the mean is 11/5 = 2.2

The Forearm

Explanation:

The proximal end of the radius illustrates the relationship of form and function. The cup-like surface of the radial head articulates with the rounded shape of the capitulum. This forms a joint that allows for movement of elbows and forearms.

Radius and ulna are the two bones of the forearm. Their proximal ends articulate and fit into the cup like end of the humerus. This forms a synovial joint called the elbow joint. The movement of this joint allows the forearms to supinate and pronate.
