The correct answer is option D. species.

It is the individuals of a species which can interbreed to produce fertile off springs. This concept is known as biological species concept. The individuals from different species cannot produce fertile off springs even if they mate. It happens because the eggs produced by the female of a particular species is compatible with the sperms of male of that particular species only. Even if through mating, sperm of a dog will reach the egg of a cat who belongs to another species, it will not be able to fuse with the egg. For fusion of egg and sperm their compatibility is must & they are compatible only if the male and female are of same species.

There are some exceptions to this concept like liger is an off spring which is produced when a male lion mates with a female tiger even though they both belong to different species. But, even though they are able to reproduce an off spring yet this off spring is not fertile.

How do the main sequence stages of these two sizes of stars differ?
xxTIMURxx [149]
Stellar evolution is the process by which a star undergoes a sequence of radical changes during its lifetime. Depending on the mass of the star, this lifetime ranges from only a few million years (for the most massive) to trillions of years (for the less massive), considerably more than the age of the universe. ^

Small, relatively cold, low mass red dwarfs burn hydrogen slowly and will burn for hundreds of billions of years

Massive hot supergiants will live for just a few million years.

A mid-sized star like the Sun will remain on the main sequence for about 10 billion years. Hope tis helps!!

For the same insolation, order these regions from "highest absorption to lowest."
son4ous [18]
Insolation is the amount of solar energy that is incident on the surface of the earth. For the same insolation, water bodies tend to absorb the most heat as water has a high heat capacity and so do grasslands. Areas such as desserts and glaciers do not absorb high amounts of insolation due to which these areas exhibit extreme, inhabitable environments. The order becomes:
The Atlantic Ocean
A marshy wetland
Nevada desert
Polar ice caps
