If the welcome gold nugget were turned into 3 equal-sized gold bricks, How many Troy ounces would each brick weigh?

Mathematics

There are different opinions about the weight of the largest welcome gold nugget, i searched the info and found that the largest gold nugget ever found has the weight of of 2316 troy ounces or 72.04 kg and that was also known as the "Welcome Stranger".
if we divide that in three parts = 72.04kg / 3
=24.013 kg of weight each part
Now 1 kg = 32.1507 troy ounces
So, 24.03 kg = 772.036 troy ounces each brick weighs.

The question is Let h(x)=2x+5 and g(x)=8-3x

h(g(1.5))= 2g(1.5)+5, and g(1.5)=8-3(1.5)=3.5, so
h(g(1.5))= 2(3.5)+5= 12
h(g(1.5))= 12

A running coach wants to know if participating in weekly running clubs significantly improves the time to run a mile. The runnin
patriot [66]

Answer:

Option B is correct.

Use the difference in sample means (10 and 8) in a hypothesis test for a difference in two population means.

Step-by-step Explanation:

The clear, complete table For this question is presented in the attached image to this solution.

It should be noted that For this question, the running coach wants to test if participating in weekly running clubs significantly improves the time to run a mile.

In the data setup, the mean time to run a mile in January for those that participate in weekly running clubs and those that do not was provided.

The mean time to run a mile in June too is provided for those that participate in weekly running clubs and those that do not.

Then the difference in the mean time to run a mile in January and June for the two classes (those that participate in weekly running clubs and those that do not) is also provided.

Since, the aim of the running coach is to test if participating in weekly running clubs significantly improves the time to run a mile, so, it is logical that it is the improvements in running times for the two groups that should be compared.

Hence, we should use the difference in sample means (10 and 8) in a hypothesis test for a difference in two population means.

Hope this Helps!!!

Suppose a basketball team had a season of games with the following characteristics: Of all the games, 60% were at-home games. De
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

E. P(W | H)

Step-by-step explanation:

What each of these probabilities mean:

P(H): Probability of the game being at home

P(W): Probability of the game being a win.

P(H and W): Probability of the game being at home and being a win.

P(H|W): Probability of a win being at home.

P(W|H): Probability of winning a home game.

Which of the following probabilities do you need to find in order to determine the proportion of at-home games that were wins?

This is the probability of winning a home game. So the answer is:

E. P(W | H)

You have 64 coins, consisting of pennies, nickels, and quarters. The value of
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

There are 20 pennies, 33 nickels and 11 quarters

Step-by-step explanation:

- You have 64 coins, consisting of pennies, nickels, and quarters

- The value of the coins is $4.60

- Assume that there are p pennies, n nickles, and q quarters

∴ p + n + q = 64 ⇒ (1)

- Lets find the value of each types of coins

∵ 1 penny = 1 cent ⇒ p = p cents

∵ 1 nickel = 5 cents ⇒ n = 5n cents

∵ 1 quarter = 25 cents ⇒ q = 25q cents

∵ 1 dollar = 100 cents ⇒ $4.60 = 4.60 × 100 = 460 cents

∴ p + 5n + 25q = 460 ⇒ (2)

- You also know that you have three times as many nickels as quarters

∴ n = 3q ⇒ (3) ⇒ the number of nickles by quarters

∵ 5n = 5(3q)

∴ 5n = 15q ⇒ (4) ⇒ the values of nickles by quarters

- Substitute (3) in equation (1) and (4) in equation (2)

∴ p + 3q + q = 64

∴ p + 4q = 64 ⇒ (5)

∴ p + 15q + 25q = 460

∴ p + 40q = 460 ⇒ (6)

- Subtract equation (5) from equation(6) to eliminate p

∴ 36q = 396

- Divide both sides by 36

∴ q = 11

- Substitute the value of q in equation (5)

∴ p + 4(11) = 64

∴ p + 44 = 64

- Subtract 44 from both sides

∴ p = 20

- Substitute the value of q in (3)

∴ n = 3(11) = 33

∴ n = 33
