M< 6 = m< 7 (vertical angles)
11x + 8 = <span>12x – 4
12x - 11x = 8 + 4
 x = 12
so
m< 6 = </span>11x + 8
m< 6 = 11(12) + 8
m< 6 = 132 + 8
m< 6 = 140

m<4 = 180 - m<6
m<4 = 180 - 140
m<4 = 40

answer

<span>m<4 = 40</span>

You first want to take note that m6 & m7 are vertical angles. Vertical angles are equal to each other, therefore m6 is equal to m7.

m6 = m7

It tells us what m6 and m7 are in the problem, so we can replace m6 with "11x + 10" and m7 with "12x - 4." From there, we can solve for x and find out what the angles are in degrees.

m6 = m7

Replace m6 and m7.

11x + 8 = 12x - 4

Subtract 11x from both sides.

11x + 8 - 11x = 12x - 4 - 11x

8 = x - 4

Add 4 to both sides.

8 + 4 = x - 4 + 4

12 = x

Now that we have x, we can find m6 and m7.

m6 = 11x + 8

m6 = 11(12) + 8

m6 = 132 + 8

m6 = 140

And for m7.

m7 = 12x - 4

m7 = 12(12) - 4

m7 = 144 - 4

m7 = 140

From here, we can find m8 because m8 and m6 together are a straight line. Straight lines have an angle of 180 degrees.

m6 + m8 = 180

Replace m6 with 140.

140 + m8 = 180

Subtract 140 from both sides.

140 + m8 - 140 = 180 - 140

m8 = 40

Now that we have m8, we can find m4.

Because of the properties of parallel lines and transversals, we know that

m1 = m5

m2 = m6

m3 = m7

m4 = m8

Since we know m8 = 40 and m4 = m8, we can replace m8 with 40 to get m4 = 40.

Draw a simple branch diagram to work the probabilities out. You find that the chance of a poisonous mushroom is 0.08 and the chance of a red poisonous is 0.04. So the probability that a poisonous mushroom is red is 1/2 or 0.5.

Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose the cost C(x), to build a football stadium of x thousand square feet is approximated by C(x) = 7,250,000/x + 60. Given the function, we can substitute values for x to determine the cost of a particular size of stadium or we can substitute values for C(x) to determine the number of square feet.

if the cost of the stadium was $8,000, the, we would determine the size of the stadium, x by substituting x $8,000 for C(x). It becomes

8000 = 7250,000/x + 60

8000 - 60 = 7250000/x

7940 = 7250000/x

7940x = 7250000

x = 7250000/ 7940

x = 913 ft^2

Drag and drop an answer to each box to correctly complete the explanation for deriving the formula for the volume of a sphere.
Advocard [28]
The volume of a sphere is given by:

V= \frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3}

So, we need to deduct this equation. We will walk through Calculus on the concept of a solid of revolution that is a solid figure that is obtained by rotating a plane curve around some straight line (the axis of revolution<span>) that lies on the same plane. We know from calculus that:

</span>V=\pi \int_{a}^{b}[f(x)]^{2}dx
<span>
Then, according to the concept of solid of revolution we are going to rotate a circumference shown in the figure, then:

</span>x^{2}+y^{2}=r^{2}
<span>
Isolationg y:

</span>y= \sqrt{r^{2}-x^{2}}<span>

So,

</span>f(x)=y=\sqrt{r^{2}-x^{2}}<span>

</span>V=\pi \int_{a}^{b}[\sqrt{r^{2}-x^{2}}]^{2}dx
<span>
</span>V=\pi \int_{a}^{b}(r^{2}-x^{2})dx<span>

being -r and r the limits of this integral.

</span>V=\pi \int_{-r}^{r}(r^{2}-x^{2})dx
<span>
Solving:

</span>V=\pi[r^{2}x-\frac{x^{3}}{3}]\right|_{-r}^{r}

Finally:
<span>
</span>V=\pi(r^{3}-\frac{r^{3}}{3})-\pi(-r^{3}+\frac{r^{3}}{3})= \frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3}<span>
</span><span>
