1/4=5/20
3/5=12/20
3600=3/20
3600/3=1/20
1/20=1200
1200x20=24000
24000m is the total distance

Answer:

The total distance of the triathlon route is 12,000 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

If Sharon swims and circle and runs, then the addition of the distances covered swimming, circling and running makes the total distance covered.

Given that she swims 1/4 of the total route and cycles 3/5 of the remaining route. She runs the rest of the route. If she runs 3,600 meters

Let the total distance be x

she swims 1/4 of x, remaining distance will be 3x/4.

If she circles 3/5 of the remaining route, the remaining distance after cycling will

=3x/4 - (3/5 ×3x/4)

=3x/4  - 9x/20

=6x/20

if she runs the remaining distance = 3,600 meters

Then 6x/20 = 3600

6x = 20 × 3600

x = 12,000 meters

Paladinen [302]

Gabriela needs to sell 4 more cups of coffee to make a profit of $75.

She sells 90 cups and makes $0.80 profit on each cup. That equals $72 profit.

90 x $0.80= $72

She wants to make $75 profit.

$75 - $72 = $3  profit short for the day

$3/$0.80 = 3.75 cups of coffee short  so to make her profit she must sell a total of 94 cups of coffee for the day or an additional 4 cups.

Brianna’s teacher asks her which of these three expressions are equivalent to each other. Expression A: 9x - 3x - 4 Expression B
kvasek [131]
Brianna's thinking is wrong because obviously all of the expressions are going to equal -4 when x is 0 because -4 would be the only value. Also, if x was a different number, the expressions wouldn't be equivalent. The equivalent expressions are A. 9x - 3x - 4, and C. 5x + x - 4. This is because when both are simplified, they equal 6x - 4.

Viktor [21]

Answer:

Peculiar purples would be more abundant

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that eculiar Purples and Outrageous Oranges are two different and unusual types of bacteria. Both types multiply through a mechanism in which each single  bacterial cell splits into four. Time taken for one split is 12 m for I one and 10 minutes for 2nd

The function representing would be

i) P=P_0 (4)^{t/12} for I bacteria where t is no of minutes from start.

ii) P=P_0 (4)^{t/10} for II bacteria where t is no of minutes from start. P0 is the initial count of bacteria.

a) Here P0 =3, time t = 60 minutes.

i) I bacteria P = 3(4)^{5} =3072

ii) II bacteria P = 3(4)^{4} =768

b) Since II is multiplying more we find that I type will be more abundant.

The difference in two hours would be

3(4)^{10}- 3(4)^{8} =2949120

c) i) P=P_0 (4)^{t/12} for I bacteria where t is no of minutes from start.

ii) P=P_0 (4)^{t/10} for II bacteria where t is no of minutes from start. P0 is the initial count of bacteria.

d) At time 36 minutes we have t = 36

Peculiar purples would be

i) P=3 (4)^{36/12}=192

The rate may not be constant for a longer time.  Hence this may not be accurate.

e) when splits into 2, we get

P=P_o (2^t) where P0 is initial and t = interval of time
