Using sohcahtoa; you have an angle and the hypotenuse. The side you are trying to find is adjacent to the angle therefore you use cos.
Cos(angle)=adjacent side/hypotenuse
Plug in to get cos(20)=y/8
Solve for y to get
Y=8*cos(20)
Solve for y
Y=7.51
Round to the nearest tenth
Y=7.5

y = 8 x cos(20)

y = 7.517

y = 7.5

According to the scatterplot below, which statement is correct?
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

Hey there

Step-by-step explanation:

The input, or independent variable, is years in operation.

Step-by-step explanation:

In an ordered pair (x, y), the independent variable or input is x and y is the dependent variable or the output.

Therefore, the values on x-axis determine the results or output on y-axis.

The ordered pairs (x, y) are:

(1, 11)     ⇒  there are 11 enrollees on Year 1

(2, 33)   ⇒  there are 33 enrollees on Year 2

(3, 39)   ⇒  there are 39 enrollees on Year 3

(4, 58)   ⇒  there are 58 enrollees on Year 4

(5, 85)   ⇒  there are 85 enrollees on Year 5

Where:

x are values on the x-axis that refers to number of years in operation

y are values on the y-axis that refers to the corresponding numbers of enrollees for each year.

Even without the graph, the correct statements i:

The input, or independent variable, is years in operation.

Jonathons piggy bank contains 20 nickels 30 quarters and 50 one dollar coins. He picks 20 coins from the bank at random
fredd [130]

Answer:

All in all, Jonathan's piggy bank contains 100 coins. Among these coins, only 50 are one-dollar coins. Therefore, the theoretical probability of picking one-dollar coin from the piggy bank is equal to 50/100 or 1/2.

Similarly, from the experiment, 20 coins were picked and among these there are 12 one-dollar coins. The answer to the second question is therefore 12/20 or 3/5.

Which graph most likely shows a system of equations with no solutions
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

The graph attached has a solution. As you can see, the parabolic function DOES intercept the line at (0, 3). Therefore, the solution to that sytem of equation is the point (0, 3).

A system of equations has no solutions when their graphs do NOT meet at any point.

The area of square abcd is 7cm^2

show that x^2+4x=3
AveGali [126]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The area (A) of the square = s² ( s is the measure of the side )

Here s = x + 2 and A = 7 , thus

(x + 2)² = 7 ← expand left side using FOIL

x² + 4x + 4 = 7 ( subtract 4 from both sides )

x² + 4x = 3 ← as required
