DNA is replicated by polymerase II enzyme in eukaryotes. The enzyme adds nucleotides complementary to the leading strand and then to an RNA strand that initiates the replication.
When the 3' _ >5' exonuclease finds a mismatched complementary pair, it nicks and excises the bases. The polymerase II then matches the right base pair and continues with replication.

How is the message from the brain sent in response to the stimuli?
ivolga24 [154]
When a stimulus is being detected, this stimulus is being sent to the brain through the sensory neuron, going to the spinal cord then to the brain. The brain then interprets these stimuli, and responds to it using the motor neurons. These are the neurons that are responsible in our actions depending on the stimuli we are exposed to. Hope this helps.

The almost pure cellulose obtained from the seed threads of Gossypium (cotton) is tough, fibrous, and completely insoluble in wa
olga55 [171]

Answer:

Cellulose is held by beta 1,4-glycosidic bonds making it linear while Glycogen is held by an alpha 1,4-glycosidic bond making it highly branched.

Explanation:

Cellulose and Glycogen are both carbohydrate polysaccharides formed from glucose monomers. According to the question, cellulose is a tough, fibrous, and insoluble (in water) polymer found to play a structural role in plants' cell wall while Glycogen is another polymer obtained from muscle or liver and disperses readily in hot water to make a turbid solution.

Although these two polysaccharides (cellulose and glycogen) are linked by (1, 4)-glycosidic bonds but the glucose monomers in CELLULOSE are linked by a beta 1,4-glycosidic, hence, making it a straight or linear polymer

GLYCOGEN, on the other hand, is linked by an alpha 1,4-glycosidic bond making it an highly branched polymer. This structure is responsible for the different physical properties of the two molecules.

A stream of water holds thriving bacteria. If drought conditions caused the stream to dry up, how would the bacteria mostly like
Alexeev081 [22]

The answer is they produce endospores.

Explanation:

The endospores are dormant, non-reproductive, tough bacterial spores that ensure the survival of bacteria in adverse conditions.

During the environmental stress, such as starvation, desiccation, radiation and chemical treatment many bacteria form dormant endospores. These endospores germinate again when the conditions become favorable.

Hence, if drought conditions lead the stream to dry up, the bacteria that live there would produce endospores to survive.
