Your answer would be 43/100 because 4/10 and 40/100 are the same things but with more zeros. 4/10 plus 3/100 is kind of like 4/10 plus 3/10
The only difference is that you add a zero.

Hope this helped :)

43 over 100
4/10 is 40/100. 40/100 plus 3/100 is 43/100

Jeanne wants to start collecting coins and orders a coin collection starter kit. The kit comes with three coins chosen at random
lesya692 [45]
Conditional probability is a measure of the probability of an event given that another event has occurred. If the event of interest is A and the event B is known or assumed to have occurred, "the conditional probability of A given B", or "the probability of A under the condition B", is usually written as P(A|B), or sometimes P_B(A).

The conditional probability of event A happening, given that event B has happened, written as P(A|B) is given by
P(A|B)= \frac{P(A \cap B)}{P(B)}

In the question, we were told that there are three randomly selected coins which can be a nickel, a dime or a quarter.

The probability of selecting one coin is \frac{1}{3}

Part A:
To find <span>the probability that all three coins are quarters if the first two envelopes Jeanne opens each contain a quarter, let the event that all three coins are quarters be A and the event that the first two envelopes Jeanne opens each contain a quarter be B.

P(A) means that the first envelope contains a quarter AND the second envelope contains a quarter AND the third envelope contains a quarter.

Thus P(A)= \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{1}{3} = \frac{1}{27}

</span><span>P(B) means that the first envelope contains a quarter AND the second envelope contains a quarter

</span><span>Thus P(B)= \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{1}{3} = \frac{1}{9}

Therefore, P(A|B)=\left( \frac{ \frac{1}{27} }{ \frac{1}{9} } \right)= \frac{1}{3}

Part B:
</span>To find the probability that all three coins are different if the first envelope Jeanne opens contains a dime<span>, let the event that all three coins are different be C and the event that the first envelope Jeanne opens contains a dime be D.
</span><span>
P(C)= \frac{3}{3} \times \frac{2}{3} \times \frac{1}{3} = \frac{6}{27} = \frac{2}{9}

</span><span>P(D)= \frac{1}{3}</span><span>

Therefore, P(C|D)=\left( \frac{ \frac{2}{9} }{ \frac{1}{3} } \right)= \frac{2}{3}</span>

If the width is 9x², then the length is 27x^5+9x^4-18x^3/9x², which equals 3x³+x²+2x. ☺☺☺☺

At a particular restaurant, each mini hotdog has 80 calories and each pizza roll has 50 calories. A combination meal with mini h
cestrela7 [59]

There are 15 mini hotdogs and 5 mini pizza rolls in the combination meal.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Calories in each hotdog = 80 calories

Calories in each mini pizza = 50 calories

Combined meal = 20

Combined calories = 1450 calories

Let,

x represent the number of hot dogs.

y represent the number of mini pizzas.

According to given statement;

x+y=20     Eqn 1

80x+50y=1450    Eqn 2

Multiplying Eqn 1 by 80

80(x+y=20)\\80x+80y=1600\ \ \ Eqn\ 3

Subtracting Eqn 2 from Eqn 3

(80x+80y)-(80x+50y)=1600-1450\\80x+80y-80x-50y=150\\30y=150

Dividing both sides by 30

\frac{30y}{30}=\frac{150}{30}\\y=5

Putting y=5 in Eqn 1

x+5=20\\x=20-5\\x=15

There are 15 mini hotdogs and 5 mini pizza rolls in the combination meal.

Kelvin and Lewie each design surveys in order to determine the average number of people who buy food at the mall. Kelvin surveys
Lisa [10]

Answer:

Lewie Survey produces less valid result.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

1. Kelvin surveys every other person leaving the food area.

2. Lewie surveys every fifth person leaving the mall's main entrance.

Therefore,

Kelvin will able to produce valid result as he is surveying every person who is leaving food court.

Means,

There are high chances that would have bought food from the court.

Whereas,

Lewie is surveying every fifth person leaving the the mall's entrance.

Therefore,

Here probability to produce valid result is less as they may have not buy food or they may visited other shops.

So, Lewie survey will produce less valid result.

The volume of air inside a rubber ball with radius r can be found using the function V(r) = four-thirds pi r cubed. What does V
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

The answer is explained below

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that The volume of air inside a rubber ball with radius r can be found using the function V(r) = \frac{4}{3}\pi r^3, this means that the volume of the air inside the rubber ball is a function of the radius of the rubber ball, that is as the radius of the rubber ball changes, also the volume of the ball changes.

As seen from the function, the radius is directly proportional to the volume of the ball, if the radius increases, the volume also increases.

V(\frac{5}{7} ) is equal to the volume of the ball when the radius of the ball is \frac{5}{7}. Therefore:

V(\frac{5}{7} )=\frac{4}{3} \pi *(\frac{5}{7} )^3=1.53\ unit^3
