Find the intersection points of the two equationsÑ

1) y = - x^2 + 6x

2) 4y = 21- x => y = 21/4 - x/4

Intersection => y = y => - x^2 + 6x = 21/4 - x/4

=> x^2 - 6x - x/4 + 21/4 = 0

=> x^2 - 25x/4 + 21/4 = 0

x^2 - 6.25x + 5.25 = 0

Use the quadratic equation and you find x = 1 and x ≈ 5.25

The respective y values are: y = 5 and y ≈ 3.94

=> points (1,5) and (5.25,3.94)

Answer: option b. (1,5) and (5.25,3.94)

Show a way to count from 170 to 410 using tens and hundreds. circle at least 1 benchmark number
Anastasy [175]
Benchmark are numbers that are used as standards to which the rest of the data is compared to. When counting numbers using a number line, the benchmark numbers are the intervals written on the axis. For benchmark numbers of 10, the number line on top of the attached picture is shown. Starting from 170, the tick marks are added by 10, such that the next numbers are 180, 190, 200, and so on and so forth. When you want to find 410, just find the benchmark number 410.

The same applies to benchmark numbers in intervals of 100. If you want to find 170, used the benchmark numbers 100 and 200. Then, you estimate at which point represents 170. For 410, you base on the benchmark numbers 400 and 500.

Find a linear equation to model this real-world application:
SSSSS [86.1K]

The linear equation to model the company's monthly expenses is y = 2.5x + 3650

Solution:

Let "x" be the units produced in a month

It costs ABC electronics company $2.50 per unit to produce a part used in a popular brand of desktop computers.

Cost per unit = $ 2.50

The company has monthly operating expenses of $350 for utilities and $3300 for salaries

We have to write the linear equation

The linear equation to model the company's monthly expenses in the form of:

y = mx + b

Cost per unit = $ 2.50

Monthly Expenses = $ 350 for utilities and $ 3300 for salaries

Let "y" be the total monthly expenses per month

Then,

Total expenses = Cost per unit(number of units) + Monthly Expenses

y = 2.50(x) + 350 + 3300\\\\y = 2.5x + 3650

Thus the linear equation to model the company's monthly expenses is y = 2.5x + 3650

Holly is trying to save $25,000 to put a down payment on a condominium. If she starts with $10,000 saved and saves an additional
postnew [5]

Answer:

15000 - 750x

Step-by-step explanation:

Holly is trying to save $25, 000 to put a down payment on a condominium. She started with $10,000 and saved an additional $750 each month.

Let

y = dollars

x = number of months

Since she started her savings with $10, 000 her remaining amount to pay will be 25000 - 10000 = $15000 .

The amount will also be reducing by $750 per month

Therefore,

How far she is from her goal can be represented with the equation

15000 - 750x

Decrease £16870 by 3% , give your answer rounded 2 decimal places
lidiya [134]
To decrease it by 3% we need to fine 97% of it and 97% is the same as 0.97

16870 times 0.97=16363.9

16870 decreased by 3% is 16363.9
