No, because
$120-15%=$102
$102+%6=$108.12

so %6 represents tax
and 15% is his discount

if you were to take away %9 then you would get $109.20
$120-9%=109.20
so Dwayne is incorrect, because $108.12 ( his true final price) isn't equal to $109.20 (the price it would be if it was 9% off)

I hope this helps!

on a map with a scale 1:100,000 the distance between two cities is 12cm. what would be the distance between these two cities on
klio [65]

Part 1)

we have

the scale is 1:100,000

the distance on a map is 12\ cm

we know that

The scale is equal to the distance on a map divided by the real distance

Let

x------> distance on a map

y-------> real distance

S-------> scale

S=\frac{x}{y}

In this part we have

S=\frac{1}{100,000}

x=12\ cm

Find the value of y

y=\frac{x}{S}

Substitute the values

y=\frac{12}{(1/100,000)}

y=1,200,000\ cm

Convert to kilometers

y=12\ Km

Part 2)

In this part we have

S=\frac{1}{300,000}

y=12\ km

Find the value of x

x=S*y

Substitute the values

x=(1/300,000)*12

x=0.00004 Km

Convert to centimeters

x=4\ cm

therefore

the answer is

The distance is 4\ cm

Find the value of x<br> .<br><br> 12.5,−10,−7.5,x<br> ; The mean is 11.5<br> .
fomenos
There are four values, including the unknown value x. The sum of the four values is the given value of the mean, 11.5, multiplied by four. Let S be the sum of the four values. Then we can write:
S=11.5\times4=46

46=12.5 + (-10)+(-7.5)+x
x = 46 + 5 = 51
The answer is: The value of x is 51.
