The area of the mural is 1056 in² and the base is 32 inches. We have to determine the height of the mural.

Area of parallelogram = b \times h

where 'b' is the base and 'h' is the height.

1056 in^{2} = 32 \times h

h=\frac{1056}{32} in

Therefore, the height of the mural is 33 inch.

Anita can clean a typical pool in 8 hours. Chao can clean a typical pool in 6 hours. How long should it take Anita and Chao work
ivanzaharov [21]
Anita can clean 1/8 portion of the pool in 1 hour

Chao can clean 1/6 portion of the pool in 1 hour

Both of them working together can clean 1/8 + 1/6 = 7/24 portion of the pool in 1 hour

Therefore, it will take both of the working together 1/(7/24) = 24/7 or 3 3/7 hours to clean a typical pool.

4. The data shows the number of siblings each student in a 9th-grade class has.
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

The correct option is Mean and standard deviation.

Step-by-step explanation:

The data set provided, arranged in ascending order is:

S = {0 , 0 , 0 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 3 , 3 , 3 , 4 , 4}

Now, it is provided that Macy was absent when the data was collected and the class guessed she had 4 siblings. When  she returned, they found out she actually has 9 siblings.

So, the new data set is:

X = {0 , 0 , 0 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 1 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 3 , 3 , 3 , 4 , 9}

The mean of a data set is the average value representing the entire data.

\bar X=\frac{1}{n}\sum X_{i}

The median is the middle value of the data set.

The inter-quartile range is the difference between the first and the third quartile.

The standard deviation is the value that represents how dispersed the data values are.

SD=\sqrt{\frac{1}{n}\sum (X_{i}-\bar X)^{2}}

From all the above statistic, the mean and standard deviation are the only ones that uses all the observations in the data set to compute their value.

So, on changing one of the 4s by a 9, the set of measures that will be affected are the mean and standard deviation.

Thus, the correct option is Mean and standard deviation.

Each face of cabinet 413s is in the shape of a rectangle. What is the volume of model 413s in cubic feet
Tasya [4]
Each side of the model of 413s is rectangular shaped.
So, by this statement we got to know that the model is in cuboid shape.
Hence, its volume will be (length×width×height) cubic feet.

Where does the helix r(t) = cos(πt), sin(πt), t intersect the paraboloid z = x2 + y2? (x, y, z) = What is the angle of intersect
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

Intersection at (-1, 0, 1).

Angle 0.6 radians

Step-by-step explanation:

The helix r(t) = (cos(πt), sin(πt), t) intersects the paraboloid

z = x2 + y2 when the coordinates (x,y,z)=(cos(πt), sin(πt), t) of the helix satisfy the equation of the paraboloid. That is, when

\bf (cos(\pi t), sin(\pi t), t)

But

\bf cos^2(\pi t)+sin^2(\pi t)=1

so, the helix intersects the paraboloid when t=1. This is the point

(cos(π), sin(π), 1) = (-1, 0, 1)

The angle of intersection between the helix and the paraboloid is the angle between the tangent vector to the curve and the tangent plane to the paraboloid.

The <em>tangent vector</em> to the helix in t=1 is

r'(t) when t=1

r'(t) = (-πsin(πt), πcos(πt), 1), hence

r'(1) = (0, -π, 1)

A normal vector to the tangent plane of the surface

\bf z=x^2+y^2

at the point (-1, 0, 1) is given by

\bf (\frac{\partial f}{\partial x}(-1,0),\frac{\partial f}{\partial y}(-1,0),-1)

where

\bf f(x,y)=x^2+y^2

since

\bf \frac{\partial f}{\partial x}=2x,\;\frac{\partial f}{\partial y}=2y

so, a normal vector to the tangent plane is

(-2,0,-1)

Hence, <em>a vector in the same direction as the projection of the helix's tangent vector (0, -π, 1) onto the tangent plane </em>is given by

\bf (0,-\pi,1)-((0,-\pi,1)\bullet(-2,0,-1))(-2,0,1)=(0,-\pi,1)-(-2,0,1)=(2,-\pi,0)

The angle between the tangent vector to the curve and the tangent plane to the paraboloid equals the angle between the tangent vector to the curve and the vector we just found.

But we now

\bf (2,-\pi,0)\bullet(0,-\pi,1)=\parallel(2,-\pi,0)\parallel\parallel(0,-\pi,1)\parallel cos\theta

where

\bf \theta= angle between the tangent vector and its projection onto the tangent plane. So

\bf \pi^2=(\sqrt{4+\pi^2}\sqrt{\pi^2+1})cos\theta\rightarrow cos\theta=\frac{\pi^2}{\sqrt{4+\pi^2}\sqrt{\pi^2+1}}=0.8038

and

\bf \theta=arccos(0.8038)=0.6371\;radians

Renee, Susan, and Martha will share the cost to rent a vacation house for a week. Renee will pay 40% of the cost. Susan will pa
notsponge [240]

Answer:

Martha is incorrect.

Amount paid by Renee = \$340

Amount paid by Susan = $297.5

Amount paid by Martha = \$212.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Renee will pay 40% of the cost. Susan will pay 0.35 of the cost.Martha will pay the remainder of the cost. Martha thinks she will pay 13 of the cost.

To find: Is Martha correct?

To find: amount paid by each of Renee, Susan, and Martha

Solution:

Percentage of an amount paid by Renee = 40%

Percentage of an amount paid by Susan = 35%

So,

Percentage of an amount paid by Martha = 100-40-35=25\%

But Martha thinks she will pay 13 of the cost. So, she is incorrect.

Amount paid by Renee = \frac{40}{100}(850)=\$340

Amount paid by Susan = \frac{35}{100}(850)=\$297.5

Amount paid by Martha = \frac{25}{100}(850)=\$212.5
