Ginny Jones receives $650 gross salary biweekly. Her income tax rate is 15%. Her group health plan contribution is $24.50 per pa

y period. She belongs to the company retirement plan, to which she contributes 6.5% of her earnings. She is also covered under Social Security benefits. Her current contribution is 7.65%. If these items are all her deductions, what is her take-home pay per period? Ginny gets a $55 raise per pay period. If her health plan is unchanged, how much of the raise will she have to take home?

Considering biweekly as pay per period

Gross Salary of Ginny Jones biweekly= $ 650

Income tax rate = 15%

Amount given as income tax by Ginny Jones= 15 % of 650

                                                    = $ \frac{15}{100} \times 650=97.50$

Group health plan Contribution =$ 24.50

Donation towards company retirement plan = 6.5% of $ 650

                                         =   $ \frac{6.5}{100} \times 650=42.25$

Contribution towards Social Security benefits= 7.65% of $ 650

                                                   =    $ \frac{7.65}{100} \times 650=49.725$

Money taken to home by Ginny biweekly i.e pay per period = Gross income - Deductions

                                                     =  650 - (97.50 + 24.50+42.25+49.725)

                                                      = 650 -213.975

                                                       =  $436.025

Money got by Ginny as a raise per period = $ 55

Total money taken to home by Ginny = $ 436.025 + $ 55

                                                             = $ 491.025

The commute time to work in the U.S. Has a bell shaped distribution with a population mean of 24.4 minutes and a population stan
Schach [20]

Answer:

Q1 a) 0.9545

b) 0.02275

c) 0.97725

Q2 z is approximately equal to -1.466

Step-by-step explanation:

Q1 The given information are;

The mean time to commute to work = 24.4 minutes

The standard deviation = 6.5 minutes

a) The z-score for 11.4 is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{x-\mu }{\sigma }

Where;

x = Observed value 11.4

μ = The mean = 24.4 minutes

σ = The standard deviation = 6.5 minutes

Z=\dfrac{11.4-24.4 }{6.5 } = -2

The z-score for 37.4 is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{37.4-24.4 }{6.5 } = 2

-2 < z < 2, which gives, from the z-score table;

The probability of commute time to be between 11.4 minutes and 37.4 minutes =  0.97725 - 0.02275 = 0.9545

b) From the z-score table, the probability that the commute time to be less than 11.4 minutes = The probability at z = -2 = 0.02275

c) From the z-score table, the probability that the commute time to be greater than 37.4 minutes = The probability at z = 2 = 0.97725

Q2 The the z-score that corresponds to a commute time of 15 minutes is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{x-\mu }{\sigma }

Z=\dfrac{15-24.4 }{6.5 } = -\dfrac{94}{65} \approx -1.466

Louise completed the work shown below. (5x3 + 3)2 = (5x3)2 + (3)2 = 25x6 + 9 Determine if Louise’s answer is correct. Explain
Sergeu [11.5K]

Louise’s answer is not correct. She is missing the term 30x3. When squaring a binomial, it is best to write the product of the binomial times itself. Then you can use the distributive property to multiply each term in the first binomial by each term in the second binomial. Louise also could have used the formula for a perfect square trinomial, which is found by squaring a binomial.

A certain financial institution declared Php 57.00 dividend per share for its common stock. The market value of the stock is Php
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

28.79

Step-by-step explanation:

The dividend share is Php 57

The Market value for the stock is Php 198

Therefore the stock yield ratio can be calculated as follows

= 58/198

= 0.2879 × 100

= 28.79

Hence the dividend stock yield ratio is 28.79
