Maus is a graphic novel which depicts the author Spiegelman interviewing his father about his experiences. His father was a Holocaust survivor. Spiegelman uses postmodernist techniques and depicts Jews as mice. The book became an important work which it went out to win a Pulitzer Prize in 1992 being the first book in that category. Maus is considered an important work of Holocaust literature because the studies on the book made significant contributions to Holocaust studies. The book allows us to see precisely how memories became authorized. Spiegelman not only depicts the story in an allegoric point of view, but also he presents the private life in a written form.

I think those aspects have a big influence on Holocaust literature. The genre adds more atmosphere to give reader opportunity to feel what happened. Either point of view have the same imortance but in the other way. It shows how it was going on from different attitudes or sides as Holocaust is very serious event.

In "Blind," what does the speaker mean by "He told her that the soul can transcend earthly life / If freed from the retina" in l
user100 [1]

Answer:

What the speaker means in these lines is that reading goes beyond knowing how to read .

Explanation:

In the Poem <em>Blind </em>by Fatima Naoot, what the author means in these lines is that the important thing in a reading is not the fact of knowing how to read, but of knowing how to interpret.

And that it doesn't matter if she is blind, she has to see beyond the retina to be able to get out of "earthlylife", that is, to go beyond.

Even in a few lines later the author says <em>"Reading does not require eyes"</em> and refers precisely to those previous lines, <u>because to read correctly you have to know how to make an interpretation, not just pronounce the words that are written in a text. </u>

Describe the opening scene of star ducks ?
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

The first scene of Bill Brown's Star Ducks shows us The Times news reporter by the name of Ward Rafferty who gets a call to show up at the farm of the Alsop family to investigate what happened there and write about it. He was told there was an air crash but it turned out something more mysterious happened. He finds a UFO crashed behind the farm and starts investigating about it.

The story of Star Ducks is an interesting sci fi story about aliens coming to Earth and their contact with humans.
