Answer:

1083 fish

Step-by-step explanation:

The fish population of Lake Collins is decreasing at a rate of 3% per year.

If starting population were about 1,300 in 2004 so the sequence will be

1,300, (1300 - 3% of 1300)..............

or 1300, 1261,.........

We know exponential function is modeled by

                   A_{n} =A_{0} (r)^{n}

Where        A_{n} = population at time t.

                  A_{0} = initial population

                   r = common ratio

                   n = time in years.

Common ratio (r) = \frac{\text{second term}}{\text{first term}}

                            = \frac{1261}{1300}=(0.97)

Then the function will be A_{n}=1300(0.97)^n

Then population in year 2010 (after 6 years) will be

A_{6}=1300(0.97)^6

   = 1300(0.8329)

  = 1082.86 ≈ 1083 fishes

For this case we have a function of the form:
 y = A * (b) ^ x
 Where,
 A: initial amount
 b: decrease rate
 x: time in years
 Substituting values we have:
 y = 1300 * (0.97) ^ x

 For 2010 we have:
 y = 1300 * (0.97) ^ 6

y = 1083
 Answer:
 an exponential decay function to model this situation is:

y = 1300 * (0.97) ^ x
 The population in 2010 is:
 y = 1083

Partial derivative is derivative over only 1 variable.
here we have 2 variables so it depends on which variable you want to make partial derivative.

df/dx = -3y

case 2
df/dy = 5y^4 - 3x

The total amount paid on a 35 year loan was $98,000. If the interest rate was 4.1% and compounded monthly, what was the principa
Levart [38]

Answer:

The principal amount was $23,393.45

Step-by-step explanation:

The total amount paid on a 35 year loan was $98,000 at the rate of interest 4.1%

We will calculate Principal amount by this formula

A=P(1+\frac{r}{n})^{nt}

Where A = amount (98,000)

           P = Principal amount (P)

           r = rate of interest 4.1% (0.041)

           n = number of compounding interest monthly (12)

           t = time (35 years)

98,000=P(1+\frac{0.041}{12})^{(12)(35)}

98,000=P(1+0.003416)^{(420)}

98,000=P(1.003416)^{(420)}

98,000 = P(4.189386)

= 4.189386P = 98,000

P = \frac{98000}{4.189386}

P = 23,392.4494 ≈ $23,392.45

The principal amount was $23,393.45

the loudness in decibels of sound is defined as 10 log I/I0, where I is the intensity of the sound in watts per square meter (W/
Oxana [17]
As the problem states, to solve this, we are going to use the equation L= log \frac{I}{I_{0} }
where
L is the loudness in dB
I is the intensity of a sound
I_{0}  <span>is the minimum intensity detectable by the human ear
</span>
We know for our problem that I=1.65*10^{-2}; we also now that the minimum intensity detectable by the human ear is 10^{-12)W/m^{2}, so I_{0}=10^{-12}. Lets replace those values in our equation to find L:
L=log \frac{1.65*10^{-2} }{10^{-12}}
L=10.22dB

Qe can conclude that since the explosion is under 100dB, it does not violates the regulation of the town. We used tow physical values to calculate the answer: the intensity of the sound of the explosion, I=1.65*10^{-2}W/m^2, and the minimum intensity detectable by the human ear I_{0}=10^{-12}W/m^{2}.
