The middle temporal visual area has been shown to become active when motion stimuli are perceived, and when the direction of an object’s movement is accurately detected.

Further information:

Middle temporal visual area:

The middle temporal visual area or MT or V5 is a region of the extra striate visual cortex. In many species, the MT area comprises a high deliberation of direction-selective neurons. The MT in primates is supposed to play a major part in the perception of motion, the incorporation of local motion signals into global percepts, and the guidance of some eye movement.

Function of MT:

Electro-physiological properties of neurons in MT showed that a large portion of cells are tuned to the speed and direction of moving visual stimuli.

Functional organization:

• Middle temporal visual area was allows to be organized in direction columns.

• Middle temporal neurons were also structured based on their tuning for binocular inequality.

The middle temporal visual area (MT or V5) is the brain area near the occipital lobe that has been shown to become active when motion stimuli are perceived, and when the direction of an object's movement is accurately detected. The middle temporal visual area is an area of extrastriate visual cortex and it is connected to a large collection of cortical and subcortical brain regions. This area is composed of high concentration of direction-selective motion stimuli which play important roles in the perception, integration of motion and in the control of some eye movements.

3. In what possible scenario would the female birds evolve to having the singing trait? (5 points)
Iteru [2.4K]

The possible scenario for singing traits in female birds will be about 26% in Generation 4 species

Explanation:

Singing trait have been common among both male and female birds and it is an ancestral traits. However, singing has been more sex-specific with male birds. Reasons for which birds generally sing are:

  • To attract the mates
  • While making nests and laying eggs
  • For the young birds to recognize their parents

However, various studies prove that the singing trait in female birds is reducing with increase in non-singing female birds over the years due to evolutionary course.

A motor unit is Group of answer choices 1. many myofibrils in a sarcolemma. 2. many motor end plates at a neuromuscular junction
Vladimir [108]

Answer:

A motor unit is a group of MOTOR NEURON and the MUSCLE FIBERS connected to it.

Explanation:

Neuron is the structural and functional unit of nervous system.

Motor unit consists of a motor neuron and the skeletal muscles innervated by the terminals of the neuron.

Several associated motor units called motor pool coordinates together the contractions of a single muscle.

That is, the activation of a motor unit leads to the contraction of all the muscle fibers attached to it.

Which of Mendel's laws or principles states that gametes carry one allele for each trait?
vagabundo [1.1K]

Answer:

hope it helped

Explanation:

Each unit of inheritance can have alternate states (alleles) that segregate at meiosis, with each gamete receiving only one allele (the principle of segregation, Mendel's first law); different alleles assort independently in the gametes (the principle of independent assortment, Mendel's second law).
