Why doesn't the audience at the first Royal Nonesuch performance retaliate against the duke and Dauphin? They are afraid of brea

king the law. They feel the play could have been better but they like it anyway. They plan to run the "actors" out of town later. They are embarrassed about being ripped off and do not want others to know.
