A function of the form f(x) = abx is modified so that the b value remains the same but the a value is increased by 2. How do the

domain and range of the new function compare to the domain and range of the original function? Check all that apply

We are given a function

y=a(b)^x

Here , b remains same and 'a' is increased by 2

Domain:

We know that domain is all possible values of x for which any function is defined

a is increased by 2

so, we get new function as

y=(a+2)(b)^x

We can choose any value of 'x'

and it does depend on 'a'

so, domain will remain same

Range:

We know that range is all possible values of y

'a' is increased by 2 and b is constant

so, new function is

y=(a+2)(b)^x

It will slightly increase y-value

but it will also be same

so, range will remain same...........Answer

What are the quotient and remainder when a) 19 is divided by 7? b) −111 is divided by 11? c) 789 is divided by 23? d) 1001 is di
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

a) quotient = 2,  remainder = 5

b) quotient = -10,  remainder = -1

c) quotient = 34,  remainder = 7

d) quotient = 77,  remainder = 0

e) quotient = 0,  remainder = 0

f) quotient = 0,  remainder = 3

g) quotient = 0,  remainder = -1

h) quotient = 4,  remainder = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

The relationship between the quotient, remainder and divisor is that the product of the quotient and divisor added to the reminder gives the dividend.

Based on this, when

a)19 is divided by 7 = 19/7

= 2\frac{5}{7}

Hence the quotient is 2, the remainder is 5

Applying the same principle, when

b) −111 is divided by 11

= -10\frac{1}{11}

Hence the quotient is -10, the remainder is -1

c) 789 is divided by 23

=34\frac{7}{23}

Hence the quotient is 34, the remainder is 7

d) 1001 is divided by 13

= 77

Hence the quotient = 77, the remainder is 0

e) 0/19 = 0

Hence the quotient is 0, the remainder is 0

f) 3/5

Hence the quotient is 0, the remainder is 3

g) -1/3

Hence the quotient is 0, the remainder is -1

h) 4/1

Hence the quotient is 4, the remainder is 0

sophia says that you can solve the problem in the Example by multiplying both quantities in the ratio 60 : 36 by 1 . Is Sophia c
guapka [62]

Answer:

No multiplying both quantities in the ratio 60 : 36 by 1  would not give the answer .

But multiplying both quantities in the ratio 60 : 36 by 1/6  would solve it.

Step-by-step explanation:

Multiplying any number or ratio by 1 gives the same answer no matter what the expression or how much bigger the number is.This will not give the solution .

If it is multiplied with a fraction like 1/6  that would give the correct answer.

Multiplying it with 1/6 reduces the ratio and gives a better estimate.

A:B

60:36

60*1/6: 36*1/6

10: 6

Meaning that for a total of 16 there are 10 of category A and 6 of category B.

But if we do the same procedure with the answer is same which does not solve the question.

A:B

60:36

60*1: 36*1

60: 36

If speed varies inversely as the time it takes to drive and Kris takes 5 hours driving at 55 mph, what speed will Martin need to
Fudgin [204]

Answer:

<em>55mph . None of the options are correct </em>

Step-by-step explanation:

If the speed varies inversely as the time it takes to drive, then v ∝ 1/t. where;

v is the speed

t is the time taken

Hence;

v = k/t with k being the constant of proportionality.

Since it takes Kris 5 hours when driving at 55 mph, we will substitute v = 55mph and t = 5 hours. into the equation above to get the value of k as shown:

55 = k/5

Cross multiply

k = 55*5

k = 275

Hence, to calculate the speed it will Martin to  drive for 5 hours, we will substitute k = 275 and t = 5 into the original equation v = k/t  as shownl

v = 275/5

v = 55 mph

<em>Hence, we can conclude that Martin will also need to drive at a speed of 55mph if he wants to take 5hours.</em>
