You just have to draw to lines similar in length, and then enlarge one of them to become the AB section, while the other one indicates the starting point for C. You've an example in the attached file :)

The <u>correct diagram</u> is attached.

Explanation:

Using technology (such as Geogebra), first construct a line segment.  Name the endpoints C and D.

Construct the perpendicular bisector of this segment.  Label the intersection point with CD as B, and create another point A above it.

Measure the distance from C to B and from B to D.  They will be the same.

Measure the distance from A to B.  If it is not the same as that from C to B, slide A along line AB until the distance is the same.

Using a compass and straightedge:

First construct segment CD, being sure to label the endpoints.

Set your compass a little more than halfway from C to D.  With your compass set on C, draw an arc above segment CD.

With your compass set on D (the same distance as before) draw an arc above segment CD to intersect your first arc.  Mark this intersection point as E.

Connect E to CD using a straightedge; mark the intersection point as B.

Set your compass the distance from C to B.  With your compass on B, mark an arc on EB.  Mark this intersection point as A.

AB will be the same distance as CB and BD.

The answer should be C. By combining like terms you can find the answer. 1.75a+2.75a = 4.5a
2.25b + 1.75b = 4b
2.25c + 1.25c = 3.5c

Please I need help ASAP The answer choices $1,300 .  $1,500  .  $3,300 .   $4,300 .   $4800/1 copier .   -$500/1 year .   V(x) =
Dafna11 [192]

1. The function that models this equation is:

Since the value V (x) of the copier depreciates over time, hence the 500 must be negative, therefore the equation:

V(x) = −500x + 4800

2. The rate of change for the function is:

The rate of change is also equivalent to the slope of the equation, in this case the slope is equal to:

-$500/1 year

3. The model predicts that the value of the copier after 3 years will be:

Substituting the value of x = 3 to the function gives us:

V(x) = −500 (3) + 4800

V(x) = $3,300

4. The model predicts that the value of the copier after 7 years will be:

Substituting the value of x = 7 to the function gives us:

V(x) = −500 (7) + 4800

V(x) = $1,300

The local museum had 20000 visitors in 1990 . The number of visitors has decreased by 3% each year since 1990 . Enter a function
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer:

It is m(x) = 20,000(0.97)^x.

Step-by-step explanation:

After 1990, each year has (100-3) = 97% ( or 0.97) of visitors that it had the previous year.

So m(x) = 20,000(0.97)^x   (answer).

This pencil cup is made out of plastic. It is 5 inches tall and has a radius of 1.75 inches. How many square inches of plastic w
Dmitry [639]

Answer:

To make the cup 64.57 square inches of plastic were used.

Step-by-step explanation:

A cup has the format of a cylinder with a open top. The surface area of the cup is given by the area of it's base (a circle) and the area of it's walls, wich can be seen as rectangle where the width is the length of the circle at the base and the height is the height of the cylinder. So we have:

area of the base = pi*r^2 = 3.14*(1.75)^2 = 3.14*3.0625 = 9.616 square inches

area of the walls = 2*pi*r*h = 2*3.14*(1.75)*5 = 54.95 square inches

surface area of the cup = area of the base + area of the walls = 9.616 + 54.95

surface area of the cup = 64.57 square inches

To make the cup 64.57 square inches of plastic were used.
