Walden was given a triangle that had 3 exterior angles labeled with expressions. Lisa was given a triangle that had an exterior

angle and 2 remote interior angles labeled with expressions. Can Walden and Lisa use the same approach to find the unknown angles? Explain. PLEASE HELP!

No, they will both find a sum, but they will have to use different relationships to write their equations. Walden needs to set the sum of the exterior angles equal to 360 degrees. Lisa needs to set the sum of the remote interior angles equal to the exterior angle. After they solve for the variable, they can substitute that into each expression to find the unknown angle measures.

Walden can set the expressions equal to 360 degrees because the sum of any figures exterior angles is always 360 degrees. Lisa can set the 2 remote angles equal to the exterior because the exterior angle is the sum of the remote angles. In other words they can't use the same method.

A 32 foot ladder is leaning against a building and forms a 29.37 angle with the ground how far away from the building is the bas
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

the base of the ladder is 27.89  ft away from the building

Step-by-step explanation:

Notice that this situation can be represented with a right angle triangle. The right angle being that made between the ground and the building, the ladder (32 ft long) being the hypotenuse of the triangle, the acute angle of 29.37^o being adjacent to the unknown side we are asked about (x). So, we can use the cosine function  to solve this:

cos(\theta)=\frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} \\cos(29.37^o)=\frac{x}{32\,\,ft}\\32 \,\,cos(29.37^o)\,\,ft=x\\x=27.887\,\,ft

which rounded to the nearest hundredth gives;

x = 27.89  ft

A lidocaine drip is infusing at 30 mL/hr on an infusion device. The drug is mixed 2g in 500mL D5W. How many mg/minute is the pat
SCORPION-xisa [38]

Answer:

2 mg/minute.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that a drug is mixed 2 g in 500 ml.

First of all, we will convert 2 grams to milligrams. 1 gram equals 1000 milligrams.

2 grams = 2,000 mg.

Now, we will find amount of mg per ml as:

\text{The amount of mg per ml}=\frac{2000\text{ mg}}{\text{500 ml}}

\text{The amount of mg per ml}=\frac{4\text{ mg}}{\text{ml}}

We have been given that a lidocaine drip is infusing at 30 mL/hr on an infusion device, so amount of mg per hr would be:

\text{Amount of mg per hour}=\frac{30\text{ ml}}{\text{ hr}}\times \frac{4\text{ mg}}{\text{ml}}

\text{Amount of mg per hour}=\frac{120\text{ mg}}{\text{ hr}}

We know 1 hour equals 60 minutes.

\text{Amount of mg per hour}=\frac{120\text{ mg}}{\text{ hr}}\times \frac{\text{1 hour}}{\text{60 minutes}}

\text{Amount of mg per hour}=\frac{120\text{ mg}}{\text{60 minutes}}

\text{Amount of mg per hour}=\frac{2\text{ mg}}{\text{minute}}

Therefore, the patient is receiving 2 mg/minute.
