Philadelphia, June 18

I write this letter out of admiration and hope. For I, who have never purposely hurt another human being, am willing to be hurt to defend a dream.

Sir, I respect you and all that you and the great men of this land have been doing for the sake of us all. For the sake of families and faces that you have never met.

I am no soldier, but I am a believer. I am no fighter, but I am a survivor. I ask you, humbly, to allow me to be a part of history and fight for what is right. I beg you to give me a chance to proudly assure that the good men of this land and our children keep what is their, to keep what they deserve.

Respectfully.

France, December 26th, 1914.

Mother, it is 4:37 in the morning, yet I cannot sleep. The most wonderful thing had happened yesterday. While you and the family sang carols before the fire there in London, I did the same with enemy soldiers here on the battlefields of France!

It was something out of a fairytale. The enemy aren't the cruel animals, that they said they'd be. Thank you for all the christmas notes, and tell little Jimmy to enjoy his hat, It was hard to get the general to give me another.

Christmas day was even better then the jolly christmas eve we had. They formed a Christmas Truce, though the generals did not aprove, we still had our truce. We played a bit of ball, and those Germans can play. Oh Mother i miss you guys every day, but soon mother we will be singing Christmas carols as a whole.

We have also gotten gifts from Princess Marry. We got sweets, new pipes, tobacco, and she even wroet each of us a card, I'm sure Cousin Beth would love that Card. Mother this Christmas was the weirdest Christmas of them all. If I live till the age of 200, I will never forget this day.

A German barber even gave poor tommy a haircut. We ended up having a feast to celebrate the holidays. The sounds of war bounced us bac to our trenches. The war is back on, I gave a man called Otto the bar of chocolate you and Susan bought me. Otto gave me some German crackers that tastes so delicious I almost cried when I ate them all. Otto also gave me some German Tobacco, don't tell corporal James I said this but, I think its better then the English tobacco we have here.

Mother tell father not to worry for me, for I can break through this war, I will fight no matter what. I hope you liked the necklace I sent, A young French girl called Emma gave me the necklace. The war is not going to end anytime soon, so I am going to have to fight harder. Tell the Family I say Merry Christmas.

your brave warrior

Why might an author include dialect in a story? check all that apply. to allude to a character’s regional background to describe
zloy xaker [14]
An author includes dialect in a story to:
- <span>to allude to a character’s regional background
- to add to the cultural context of a story’s setting
- to allude to a character’s social background
- to create a more genuine dialogue between characters

"</span><span>to describe what a particular setting looks like" is not included since it mainly talks about the setting of the story which is not directly related to the dialect they will be using.</span>
