Answer;

Advantages of sexual reproduction:

 • It provides genetic variation.

Disadvantages of sexual reproduction:

 • Not all mutations are passed on.
 • It is time and energy consuming.
 • The reproduction process is slow.

Sexual reproduction is a type of reproduction in which genetic information from two genders or sexes combine to produce a offspring. Both the gender produce gametes which fuse to form zygote which develops into an offspring.

There are several advantages and disadvantages associated with sexual reproduction as compared to the asexual reproduction.

The advantages are:

 • It provides genetic diversity to the species.
 • It naturally increases the levels of diseases resistance throughout the species.
 • It can lead to the incorporation of evolutionary advancements in a population.
 • It can give a rewarding experience specially in human beings as it releases dopamine in the brain.
 • It also helps in improving health, growth of brain cells, relieving pain, can act as anti-depressant etc.

The disadvantages are:

 • It is time and energy consuming process.
 • Reproduction is uncertain as it is not a 100% successful method for producing offspring.
 • Not all favorable variations or mutations are passed on to the next generation.
 • Number of offspring produced is usually low.

Ecological Footprint - Option C

An ecological footprint is determined by measuring the rate of water used. The Ecological Footprint is determined by following how much biologically prolific field it needs to consume a population's carbon dioxide radiations and to produce all the means it absorbs.

A country's consumption is measured by summing imports to and deducting exports from its nationwide generation.

Consider a field plot containing 200 kg of plant material. Approximately how many kg of carnivore production can be supported? A
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

E) 2

Explanation:

The energy transfer through the food chain is not 100% from one consumer to another, or from the producer to the primary consumer, but instead it is around 10%. This means that if a producer has the 100% of energy, as it is the one that produces it, the primary consumer will only get 10% of its energy while consuming it, while the predator of the the primary consumer will only 10% from the primary consumer, or rather only 1% from the energy of the producer. In this case we have 200 kg of plant material. The plant material represents a producer, thus it is the one with 100% of energy. A herbivore will eat the plant material, getting 10% of its energy, thus this plant material is supporting about 20 kg of herbivore. The predator of the herbivore gets only 10% from the herbivore's energy, or only 1% of the producer's energy, thus only 2 kg of predator can be supported by the initial plant material.
