The answer is A. In laboratory settings, people can process and respond to information outside of their awareness.

EXPLANATION

The subliminal message is the signal or the message from the outside world that made it inside the people’s brain, beyond the usual limits of perception. The subliminal message is not recognized by the conscious mind, it goes in the unconscious mind. The subliminal message goes into the deeper part of the mind. Subliminal messages get transmitted briefly through the conscious mind, but the unconscious mind is the one that eventually perceived the subliminal message.

Subliminal messages can be in any kind of forms, it can be an image or even sound message. To put it in a more simpler way, the subliminal message gets perceived into the deeper parts of our single integrated mind. People use the subliminal message for a lot of purposes. Usually in daily life, people use it for advertising and also propaganda purposes. Subliminal messages made people to something unconsciously, and it is for the purpose of certain specific communities.

The term subliminal message was first developed by Vance Packard. He wrote it inside his book that is titled “The Hidden Persuaders” in the year 1957. Inside the book, he wrote about how the movie theater uses the subliminal message for its advantages. The subliminal message’s purpose was for the customers to buy popcorn and coca-cola in the theater. Later on, a lot of people eventually found out that the book was a fraud since it was a fabricated study. The author himself also admitted it.

Years later, the book “Subliminal Seduction” was out, and it was about true techniques that someone can use to apply the subliminal message in advertising.

Subliminal messages are signals designed to pass below the normal limits of perception, remaining under people's threshold of conscious awareness.

Therefore the correct answer is the 1st one: "in laboratory settings, people can process and respond to information outside of their awareness".

But it doesn't mean that people obey these messages like zombies; in reality, subliminal messages have slight effects outside the laboratory.

Perception is possible when stimulation is strong enough to cause a reaction on sensory receptors and reach the brain through nerve impulses.

Is it desirable to maintain our company’s high quality standards for product development, even if the result is higher prices fo
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

The options actually are:

No; our company’s concern with product quality has allowed competitors to capture market share by offering slightly inferior but less expensive products.

Argument strong / weak

Yes; many employees ignore company procedures designed to ensure that our product quality standards are met.

Argument strong / weak

The first argument is strong

The second argument is weak

Explanation:

The first argument is logical because keeping up with the competitors' low priced products is a genuine source of concern. The quality procedures could still be adhered strictly if the product is perceived as been of very high quality in the eyes of the customers, as the saying goes that the real beauty lies in the eyes of the beholders, meaning that this is something for customers to judge.

The second argument is weak, override of control procedures by some employees is not a tenable excuse not to have the right quality products manufactured, since carrot and stick approach of punishing non-compliant employees and rewarding compliant employees is at their disposal.
