The correct answer is B. The Cyrillic alphabet was not a major accomplishment of Byzantine culture.

The Cyrillic alphabet was invented in the 10th century in Preslav, the capital of the First Bulgarian Empire, by Kliment Ohridski (Clement of Ocrida), one of the Bulgarian pupils of the Cyril and Methodius brothers.

It is based on the Greek alphabet, with characters from the Glagolitic alphabet and with exclusively Slavic sounds.
