A young couple purchases their first new home in 2002 for $120,000. They sell it to move into bigger home in 2007 for $150,000.

First, we will develop an exponential model for the value of the home. The model will have the form V(t)=V0ekt. Let t be years since 2002 and V(t) be the value of the home.

Answer:

The exponential model for the value of the home is V(t)=120000e^{0.045t}.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the give information 2002 is the initial year and the value of the hom in 2002 is $120,000.

The model will have the form

V(t)=V_0e^{kt}

Where V₀ is initial value of home, k is a constant and t is number f years after 2002.

V(t)=120000e^{kt}

The value of home in 2007 is $150,000. Difference between 2007 and 2002 is 5 years. Therefore the value of function is 150000 at t=5.

150000=120000e^{k(5)}

\frac{150000}{120000}=e^{5k}

\frac{5}{4}=e^{5k}

Take ln both sides.

ln(\frac{5}{4})=lne^{5k}

ln(\frac{5}{4})=5k                    (lne^a=a)

\frac{ln(\frac{5}{4})}{5}=k

k=0.04462871\approx 0.045

Therefore exponential model for the value of the home is V(t)=120000e^{0.045t}.

Where t is number of years after 2002.

Answer:

V(t)=120000*e^{(0.044)t}

Step-by-step explanation:

If the given equation is V(t)=V₀*e^{kt}                .............(i)

Here from the question it is given that

V(t) = $150,000

V₀=$120,000

t= 2007-2002=5 years

e≅2.718

k=?

Now for the Value of k putting all values in equation (i)

150000=120000*e^{k(5)}

e^{5(k)}=\frac{150000}{120000}

e^{5(k)}=\frac{5}{4}

Now taking Natural log on both sides of the equation

㏑ (e^{5(k)})= ㏑\frac{5}{4}

as we Know that ln(e)=1

so

5k = 0.223

dividing both sides by 5 gives

k = \frac{0.223}{5}

k= 0.044

Now as we got the value of k we can form a general exponential equation which will be

V(t)=V₀*e^{(0.044)t}

here value of v₀ is 120000

so equation will be

V(t)=120000*e^{(0.044)t}

Let h(x)=505.5+8e−0.9x . What is h(5) ? rounded to the nearest tenth. any help would be great
Naddik [55]
For this case, the first thing we are going to do is rewrite the function.
 We have then:
 h (x) = 505.5 + 8 * exp (-0.9 * x)
 We evaluate the value of x = 5 in the function.
 We have then:
 h (5) = 505.5 + 8 * exp (-0.9 * 5)
 h (5) = 505.588872
 round to the nearest tenth:
 h (5) = 505.6
 Answer:

the value of h (5) is:

h (5) = 505.6

Which ordered pairs are solutions to the inequality 2y−x≤−6 ?
Vinil7 [7]
Given inequality: 2y−x ≤ −6

Option-1 : (-3,0)
2×0 - (-3) = 0 + 3 = 3 > -6
Not satisfied

Option-2 : (6,1)
2×1 - 6 = 2 - 6 = -4 > -6
Not satisfied

Option-3 : (1, -4)
2×(-4) - 1 = -8 - 1 = -9 < -6
Satisfied.
Thus, (1, -4) is a solution.

Option-4 : (0, -3)
2×(-3) - 0 = -6 - 0 = -6 = -6
Satisfied.
Thus, (0, -3) is a solution.

Option-5 : (2, -2)
2×(-2) - 2 = -4 - 2 = -6 = -6
Satisfied.
Thus, (2, -2) is a solution.

Solutions are: (1, -4), (0, -3) , (2, -2)

Benjamin is riding a unicycle. The tire of his unicycle has a circumference of 2.8 \text{ m}2.8 m2, point, 8, start text, space,
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Answer:

420 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

Q. Benjamin is riding a unicycle. The tire of his unicycle has a circumference of 2.8 m, and the tire revolves 1.5 times per second. What is the distance Benjamin travels in 100 seconds?

<u>Given</u>:

Circumference of circular tire = 2.8 meters

Tire revolves per second = 1.5 times

<u>Question asked:</u>

What is the distance Benjamin travels in 100 seconds?

<u>Solution:</u>

Circumference of circular tire means distance covered by the unicycle's tire when it revolves 1 time that is 2.8 meters.

<em><u>Now, by unitary method:</u></em>

In 1 second, tire revolves = 1.5 times

In 100 seconds, tire revolves =  1.5 \times 100

                                                = 150 times

Distance covered by the tire when it revolves 1 time = 2.8 m

Distance covered by the tire when it revolves 150 times = 2.8 \times 150

                                                                                             = 420 meters

Therefore, Benjamin travels 420 meters in 100 seconds.
