6 0

we have

y-6x-9=0

Step 1

<u>Clear the variable y</u>

y-6x-9=0

Adds (6x+9) both sides

y-6x-9+(6x+9)=0+(6x+9)

y=(6x+9)

Step 2

<u>Convert in function notation</u>

Let

f(x)=y

f(x)=(6x+9)

therefore

<u>the answer is</u>

f(x)=(6x+9)

Solution:

There are two kind of variables when equation of a function is written

1. Independent variable

2. Dependent Variable

A variable is said to be independent , if it can select constant values by itself.

And, a variable is said to be independent, if it is dependent on other variable of the equation.

The given equation is , y-6 x -9=0

As, we have to write a function in which x is an independent variable and other variable y, will work as a dependent variable.

So, writing the above linear function as,

y= 6 x + 9

f(x)= 6 x + 9 →→Option (A)

Correct representation of function in which x is an independent variable and y is a dependent variable, because if we substitute different real values of x, we get different real values of y.

josh is 6 years older than 4 times Kim's age. The sum of their ages is less than 31. what is the oldest Kim could be? show all y
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

4 years old.

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets say that Josh's age is j and Kim's age is k. As Josh is 6 years older than 4 times Kim's age, we can write this as an equation:

j = 4k + 6

This is, John's age is equal to four times Kim's plus 6 years.

We then know that, when summed their ages is less than 31, so:

k + j < 31

Replace John's age by our first equation:

k + 4k + 6 < 31

5k + 6 < 31

Subtract 6 in both sides:

5k + 6 - 6 < 31 - 6

5k < 25

Dividing both sides by 5:

5k/5 < 25/5

k < 5

So, Kim's age MUST be less than 5.

If we talk about discrete values, this is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...., we will say than the oldest Kim could be is 4. If Kim is 5 years old, the sum of ages is 31 and we need it ti be LESS than 31. (we are not considering fractional numbers as 4.5 years old).

So, Kim can be, at maximum, 4 years old.

What is not a pair of equivalent fractions for 5/8 and 1/2
n200080 [17]
Two fractions equivalent to each: Just divide or multiply both top AND bottom by the same number.<span>
5/6: 10/12 OR 15/18
15/30: 5/10 OR 1/2
45/60: 8/12 OR 4/6

Rewrite each pair or fractions with common denominator: Find the difference between the two bottom numbers, and multiply top and bottom number.

5/8 and 3/4: 4X2=8, 3X2=6. So, 5/8 and 6/8.
2/5 and 1/2: 2/5 and 2.5/5
9/9 and 5/7: 9/9 and ~5.7/9

Rewrite each in simple form: Find greatest common factor and divide.

9/54: 1/6
20/40: 1/2
100/110: 10/11

Are these fractions equivalent?
No. 5/1 and 5/5 are, because they are both 5 wholes. 1/5 is not because it is a fifth of a whole.

In what situation can you use multiplication to find equivalent fractions?
I'm sorry but I do not understand this question.
