Co evolution causes simultaneous evolution of organisms that are intimitate ecologically. For example – all organism that exhibit prey and predator are influenced by each other’s evolution and hence it is said that they co-evolve.  

For instance –  

Parasites such as cuckoos and cowbirds mimic their hosts. These parasites have evolved to produce eggs that are similar in appearance to that of host birds so that the predators could not distinguish between the two different types of egg.  

Thus co-evolution would cause mimicry in case where there is probability of an species to survive just by mimicking the co-evolving species
