Jon and Brantley are saving up to go on a trip together at the end of the summer. Jon had $95 at the beginning of the summer and

makes $50 a day mowing lawns. Brantley only had $5 at the beginning of the summer, but he is helping his uncle who is paying him $65 a day to help in his mechanic shop. Write a system of equations to represent this situation. Then use the substitution method with that system to determine after how many days of working will they have the same amount of money. On that day how much money will they each have?

Answer:

In 6 days they will both have $395.

Step-by-step explanation:

Jon's equation is 95 + 50x = y where x is the number of days he earns $50 and y is the total amount of money for the summer.

Brantley's equation is 5 + 65x = y where x is the number of days he earns $65 and y is the total amount of money for the summer.

Substitute by setting each equation equal to each other.

95+50x = 5 + 65x

95 - 5 +50x = 5 - 5 + 65x

90 + 50x = 65x

90 + 50x-50x = 65x-50x

90 = 15x

6 = x

On day 6, they will have the same money.

They will have 95 + 50(6) = 95 + 300 = $395.

When Θ = 5 pi over 6, what are the reference angle and the sign values for sine, cosine, and tangent?
stira [4]
Note that (5π)/6 radians = 150°. Therefore the given angle is in quadrant 2.

Refer to the figure shown below.

Reference angles are measured relative to the horizontal axis.
Therefore the reference angle in each quadrant is π/6 radians or 30°.
Denote the reference angle as θ'.
Then, in quadrant 1,
cos θ' = √3/2,  sin θ' = 1/2,  tan θ' = √3.

Because we are in quadrant 2,
  sin θ' = π/6;
  sin(5π/6) is positive, but cos (5π/6) and tan (5π/6) are negative.

 Answer:
5π/6 is in quadrant 2.
The reference angle, θ' = π/6.
sin(5π/6) is positive, cosine and tangent are negative.

Ne4ueva [31]

Answer:

with 0.10 level of significance the P-VALUE that would be used in the hypothesis claim is 0.05%

Step-by-step explanation:

In hypothesis testing in statistics, we can say that the p-value is a probability of obtaining test results when we assume that the null hypothesis is correct.

The p-value is the probability that the null hypothesis is true.

A p-value less than or equals to 0.05  is statistically significant. It shows strong evidence against the null hypothesis, meaning  there is less than a 5% probability the null is correct and clearly we can say that the results are random.

Elliott has some yarn that she wants to use to make hats and scarves. Each hat uses 0.2 kilograms of yarn and
erastova [34]

Answer:

The equation are:

1) h + s = 20

2) 4h = 1s

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of hats Elliott made = h

Number of scarfs Elliott made = s

total number of items Elliott made = 20

h + s = 20 ..[1]

1 hat uses 0.2 kilograms of yarn

1 hat = 0.2 kg of yarn

Then h hats will use = 0.2h kg of yarn

1 scarf uses 0.1 kilograms of yarn

1 scarf= 0.1 kg of yarn

Then s scarfs will use = 0.1s kg of yarn

She wants to twice as much as yarn for scarves for hats:

2 × (0.2h kg of yarn) = 0.1s kg of yarn

0.4h = 0.1s

4h = 1s...[2]

The equation are:

1) h + s = 20

2) 4h = 1s
