Read the excerpt below and answer the question. “Hey, kid, how old are you?” The man interrogating me was an inmate. I could not

see his face, but his voice was weary and warm. “Fifteen.” “No. You’re eighteen.” “But I’m not,” I said. “I’m fifteen.” “Fool. Listen to what I say.” * * * [Dr. Mengele] looked like the typical SS officer: a cruel, though not unintelligent, face, complete with monocle. He was holding a conductor’s baton and was surrounded by officers. The baton was moving constantly, sometimes to the right, sometimes to the left. In no time, I stood before him. “Your age?” he asked, perhaps trying to sound paternal. “I’m eighteen.” My voice was trembling. How is this excerpt from Elie Wiesel’s Night an example of an internal conflict? Select all that apply. he corrects the inmate when the man gets Eliezer's age wrong he is afraid of what Dr. Mengele is going to do to him he considers whether or not to trust the inmate who tells him he's not fifteen he must decide whether or not to tell Dr. Mengele the truth about his age

Answer: C) he considers whether or not to trust the inmate who tells him he's not fifteen and D) he must decide whether or not to tell Dr. Mengele the truth about his age.

Explanation: A conflict in a story is a struggle between opposing forces, usually between the main character and some other force, that can be another character, society or even himself. Without the conflict the story wouldn't have any point. An internal conflict is a struggle between a character and himself, in the given excerpt from "Night" by Elie Wiesel, we can see examples of internal conflict when the speaker considers whether or not to trust the inmate and when he decides whether or not to tell Dr. Mengele the truth about his age.

I think there are two ptions that show internal conflict:

1) He considers whether or not to trust the inmate who tells him he´s not fifteen.

In this case he doesn't know the inmmate and doesn't know the exact reason hes telling him to lie. One reason is because he wants to help him, that information would save his life from the SS. The other option is that the inmmate is selfish and by telling him to lie, the kid will be punished instead of him. The kid must decide then if he trusts him or not.

2) He must decide whether or not to tell Dr. Mengele the truth about his age.

In this case he has even more doubts, he knows Mengeles reputation and he doesn't know how much information does he have and how will it affect him. If he lies he might know it and punish him or that lie could save him.

The conflict is real because his life could depend on the decissions he makes.

Since celebrities are constantly in the public eye, there is a debate over what their responsibilities as role models should be.

Celebrities should use their status as role models to bring attention to social issues.

The center of a cluster web for an essay should contain the main idea of the essay. From the essay prompt, we know that the essay should address the issue of whether or not celebrities have a responsibility to act as role models. The statement in the center of the cluster web should be a broad statement that answers the question without any specific evidence. The evidence goes in connecting bubbles. The only broad statement that addresses the essay prompt is the one that states: Celebrities should use their status as role models to bring attention to social issues.

Is Colin's evidence relevant to his claim?
Tema [17]

Answer: Colin's evidence is not relevant to his claim because it is about flying drones being a sport, not about privacy issues.

Explanation: Colin's evidence is not related to his main claim, that is to say the assertion that drones do not invade people's privacy. Instead of focusing on providing evidence that supports the idea that drones do not affect people's privacy negatively, Colin offers evidence related to the thought that flying drones is a sport by stating that coordination and technical skills are necessary to fly drones. Therefore, it can be said that his argument lacks strength because it has not been properly supported.
