HR (Human Resource ) METRICS -  Metrics are those type of measurements which are used in HR to  take out an estimate of how effective and efficient HR policies are . This process helps HR department in comparing different data at various points and these data reflects some descriptive detail regarding the process.

BIG DATA – In any organization , there is a large amount of data related to employees and customers is available, which an organization can use to have a better understanding of employees’ performance, steps needed to help them in their development, knowing more about products and services etc. This data will help organization in developing their employees and improving the organization's performance. If an organization wants to solve its business problems, then it needs to integrate the big data with internal metrics, social media data and government data.

Due to this type of “big data”, an organization faces various challenges, such as -  

1) Probably the biggest challenge will be that a HR manager would have to face while implementing this would be to decide where to focus this big data investment in the company.

2) Another big challenge is to find the right personnel (in this case data scientist ) , who would have to take responsibility of managing huge amounts of structured and unstructured data.

3) The next challenge would be to determine which data is to be used for making different business decisions.

4) One of the challenges would be to ensure that all the information available with different business units is available in big data.

5) Another challenge would be to ensure that there is proper communication and high level of trust between the data scientist and functional managers.

6) Organizing the big data activities is also a challenge that an organization would have to face.
