Answer:

c. messages that are clear and own a speaker's thoughts and feelings

Explanation:

This message is not clear, as she is just insulting her little brother, she needs to say what is bothering her, and how could he change that and how does that makes her feel, not just insult her brother and storm off, she could use cooperative verbal communication to communicate her feelings and thoughts so her brother can understand her better and can change what he could be doing to bother her.

The answer is C. Sarah has to speak clearly about what she wants and feels. Saying “You are such a moron” explains nothing about what she wants, she just insults his brother.

EXPLANATION

Verbal communication is all about language, not including body language. The language can be in the form of writing or speaking. Verbal communication focuses on the words that we use, and not for other things than words, such as body language, silence, and gestures.

There are several differences between spoken and written communication. The differences include pragmatic rules and how to use symbols for a certain meaning. Verbal communication can be used to define reality. It can define basically anything, from experiences, objects, thoughts, feelings, emotions, ideas, and even people. Verbal communication is also how we define and label all the things that are happening in our lives.

We do not only use verbal communication to describe things, but to evaluate things too. So instead of only stating that the weather is bad, you also evaluate how you feel about it. Whether you are sad, disappointed, or happy, all of it can be evaluated and explained through verbal communication.

This also reflects on how we use verbal communication to define our reality on a daily basis. People can make choices in what they want to define in their lives using verbal communication. Therefore, verbal communication is important in our lives, and we should use it wisely with a good purpose in our daily lives.
