Answer:

t ≥ working hours for ticket sellers per week ÷ average ticket seller work hours per week

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets explain how to solve the problem

- Sapphire Island is open 7 days a week

- It has 8 ticket booths

- Each booth has a ticket seller from 10:00 am to 5 pm

- On average, ticket sellers work 30 hours per week

* Lets change these information to equation to find the minimum

number of ticket sellers t

∵ The time for each booth is from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

∴ We need a ticket seller for 7 hours every day for each booth

∵ There are 8 booth

∴ The number of hours per day = 7 × 8 = 56 hours

∵ The Sapphire Island is open 7 days a week

∴ The number of hours per week = 56 × 7 = 392 hours

∵ The average ticket seller work hours is 30 hours per week

∵ The number of working hours for ticket sellers is 392 hours

  per week

∵ t is the minimum number of ticket sellers

∴ t = 392/30 = 13.067

∴ The minimum number of ticket sellers is 14

∴ t ≥ working hours for ticket sellers per week ÷ average ticket seller

   work hours per week

Nina has x coins. Clayton has 5 fewer coins than six times the number of coins Nina has. Write an expression for the total numbe
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

7x - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

Nina = x coins

Clayton = 6x - 5 coins

Expression for the total number of coins Nina and Clayton have altogether.

Nina + Clayton

= x + (6x - 5)

= x + 6x - 5

= 7x - 5

The correct answer and expression is 7x - 5

Vladimir [108]

Answer:

The least amount spent is £12.92

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Number of Carton = 38

A carton = 45 pence

4 carton = £1.56

To spend the least amount of money, be needs to go for the least expensive option.

There are 100 pence in £1

So, there are x pence in £1.36

x * 1 =1.36 * 100

x = 136 pence for 4 carton.

To get the price of 1 carton, divide x by 4

x/4 = 136p/4

x/4 = 34 pence.

This means that he can get a carton of juice at the rate of 34p and at the rate of 45p.

The smallest of this is 34p.

Hence total amount spent =

34 * 38

amount = 1292p --- convert to £

Amount = 1292/100

Amount = £12.92

Hence, the least amount spent is £12.92

In circle A shown, BC || DE , mBC=58° and mDE=142°. Determine the measure of ZCFE . Show how you arrived at your answer.
AysviL [449]

Answer:

< CFE = 40°

Step-by-step explanation:

To better understand the solution, see attachment for the diagram.

Given:

BC parallel to DE

Measure of Arc BD = 58°

Measure of Arc DE = 142°

First step: Draw a diameter that passes through the centre of the circle and name it. In this case, the diameter is line ST.

The line ST divides the arc BD and arc DE into half.

That is:

Arc SC = 1/2(arc BC) =1/2(58)

Arc SC = 29°

Arc TE = 1/2(arc DE) =1/2(142)

Arc TE = 71°

Arc SC + Arc CE + Arc TE = 180° (Sum of angles in a semicircle

29° + Arc CE  + 71° = 180°

Arc CE + 100° = 180°

Arc CE = 180-100

Arc CE = 80°

Inscribed angle = 1/2(intercepted angle)

<CFE = 1/2(Arc CE )

<CFE = 1/2(80)

< CFE = 40°

Prove algebraically that the recurring decimal 0.472 can be written as
17
36
Katen [24]

Given:

The recurring decimal is 0.47\overline{2}.

To prove:

Algebraically that the recurring decimal 0.47\overline{2} can be written as \dfrac{17}{36}.

Proof:

Let,

x=0.47\overline{2}

x=0.472222...

Multiply both sides by 100.

100x=47.2222...     ...(i)

Multiply both sides by 10.

1000x=472.2222...        ...(ii)

Subtract (i) from (ii).

1000x-100x=472.2222...-47.2222...

900x=425

Divide both sides by 900.

x=\dfrac{425}{900}

x=\dfrac{17}{36}

So, 0.47\overline{2}=\dfrac{17}{36}.

Hence proved.
