Answer:

< CFE = 40°

Step-by-step explanation:

To better understand the solution, see attachment for the diagram.

Given:

BC parallel to DE

Measure of Arc BD = 58°

Measure of Arc DE = 142°

First step: Draw a diameter that passes through the centre of the circle and name it. In this case, the diameter is line ST.

The line ST divides the arc BD and arc DE into half.

That is:

Arc SC = 1/2(arc BC) =1/2(58)

Arc SC = 29°

Arc TE = 1/2(arc DE) =1/2(142)

Arc TE = 71°

Arc SC + Arc CE + Arc TE = 180° (Sum of angles in a semicircle

29° + Arc CE  + 71° = 180°

Arc CE + 100° = 180°

Arc CE = 180-100

Arc CE = 80°

Inscribed angle = 1/2(intercepted angle)

<CFE = 1/2(Arc CE )

<CFE = 1/2(80)

< CFE = 40°

Describe the transformation f(x) = √x + 1 − 5 in words. The parent function f(x) = √x has been shifted 1 unit and 5 units.
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

The translation is 1 unit to the left and 5 units down

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

g(x)=\sqrt{x+1}-5

f(x)=\sqrt{x} -----> parent function

we know that

The transformation

f(x)-----> g(x) has the following rule

(x,y)-------> (x-1,y-5)

That means

The translation is 1 unit to the left and 5 units down

see the attached figure to better understand the problem

15 PINTS!!!!!!!!! PLZ HELP!!!!!!!! The linear function f(x) = 0.5x + 80 represents the average test score in your math class, wh
Stells [14]

Answer:

Part A: The test average for the math class after completing 2 tests is 81

Part B: The test average for the science class after completing 2 tests is 83

Part C: The science class had the higher average test score after completing the test 4.

Step-by-step explanation:

The average test score for math class is given by the linear function, f(x) = 0.5·x + 80

The data for the average test score for science g(x) are;

x,   q(x)

1,     81

2,    83

3,    85

Part A: The average test score for math after completing test 2 is given as follows;

f(2) = 0.5×2 + 80 = 81

∴ The test average for the math class after completing 2 tests = 81

Part B:

The average test score for science after completing test 2 is given from the table as at x = 2, g(2) = 83

∴ The test average for the science class after completing 2 tests = 83

Part C: After completing 4 tests, we have for the math class, f(4) = 0.5×4 + 80 = 82

For the science class, it is observed that common difference between each subsequent test score average is 2, therefore, the average test score, for the fourth test is 2 added to the average test score after the third test, which gives;

Average test score, after completing the fourth test for the science class, g(4) = 85 + 2 = 87

Since g(4) > f(4) the science class had the higher average test score after completing the test 4.

A school district has a student population of $6,734 students. If the maximum class size is 25 students. How many more teacher m
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer:

53 teachers

Step-by-step explanation:

Basically, what we need to do here is to find how many teachers there need to be, first. If there are 6,734 students in the school district and if maximum class size is 25, then the number of teachers needed is:

6,734 / 25 = 269.36

Of course, it's obvious that we can't have a decimal number of teachers, so we need to find integer (269 or 270).

If we take 269 teachers and 25 students per class, we get:

269 • 25 = 6,725 students, which is not enough, since there are 6,734 students.

That means that the number of teachers needed is 270.

It is given that there are already 217 teachers, meaning that 270-217=53 teachers have to be supplemented.
