According to the FBI Bank Crime Statistics, there were more than 4,000 bank robberies in the United States in 2015, an increa

se of 3.9 percent over 2014. The FBI claims that banks have made themselves easy targets by refusing to install clear acrylic partitions, called bandit barriers, that separate bank tellers from the public. According to a special agent with the FBI, "Bandit barriers are a great deterrent. We've talked to guys who rob banks, and as soon as they see a bandit barrier, they go find another bank." Sources: U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, "Bank Crime Statistics 2015," and "Bank Crime Statistics 2014"; and Richard Cowen, "FBI: Banks Are to Blame for Rise in Robberies," NorthJersey, March 10, 2009. Despite this finding, many banks have been reluctant to install these barriers. Wouldn't banks have a strong incentive to install bandit barriers to deter robberies? Why, then, do so many banks not do so?

Answer:

Probably because the costs of doing so.

Step-by-step explanation:

Even though the findings are that bandit barriers are a great deterrent to stop bank robberies, the banks would have to spend a lot of money on installing them in all their banks, which would make a great amount of money spent on this and therefore would be losing money.

The number of frogs living in a pond at time t is modeled by the function y= F(t) that satisfies the logistic differential equat
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

from the first model y=F(t)........(1) we have the equation = 25004(1010-y) ..(2).

now you recall that t=0, from equation 1 we now y=F(0)=0.

now from equation 2 we substitute y ,

which implies number of frogs= 25004(1010-y) but y=0

therefore 25004(1010-0)= 25 254 040

Step-by-step explanation:

1. you define variables.

2. you define equations

3. substitute and solve

Rewrite in simplest rational exponent form √x • 4√x. Show each step of your process.
pantera1 [17]
Multiplying these together, we get:

4 \sqrt{x^2}

The square root of x^2 is x, so we have a final expression of 4x.

Match the following items.
Margarita [4]

Answer:

1. m\angle ECB=50\\2. m\textrm{ arc BC}=100\\3. m\textrm{ arc CD}=80\\4. m\angle DCF=40

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

\angle DBC=40°

From the triangle, using the theorem that center angle by an arc is twice the angle it subtend at the circumference.

m\textrm{ arc CD}=2\times \angle DBC\\m\textrm{ arc CD}=2\times 40=80

Also, the diameter of the circle is BD. As per the theorem that says that angle subtended by the diameter at the circumference is always 90°,

m\angle BCD=90

From the Δ BCD, which is a right angled triangle,

m\angle DBC+m\angle BDC=90\textrm{ (right angled triangle)}\\40+m\angle BDC=90\\m\angle BDC=90-40=50

Now, using the theorem that angle between the tangent and a chord is equal to the angle subtended by the same chord at the circumference.

Here, chords CD and BC subtend angles 40 and 50 at the circumference as shown in the diagram by angles m\angle DBC\textrm{ and }m\angle BDC and EF is a tangent to the circle at point C.

Therefore, m\angle DCF=m\angle DBC=40\\m\angle ECB=m\angle BDC=50

Again, using the same theorem as above,

m\angle DCF=50\\\therefore m\textrm{ arc BC}=2\times m\angle DCF=2\times 50=100

Hence, all the angles are as follows:

1. m\angle ECB=50\\2. m\textrm{ arc BC}=100\\3. m\textrm{ arc CD}=80\\4. m\angle DCF=40
