Answer:

The cow uses all but stores ten percent of what they eat.

Explanation:

For example, a plant produces 100 percent energy. The plant needs to use the energy for survival.

When a cow eats the plant, it only gains 10 percent of the energy.

Then, say a wolf eats the cow.

The wolf only gets 1 percent of the energy that is produced by the plant.

Which of the following phenomena is a consequence of Independent Assortment? 1. Pure breeding plants, when mated with each other
Natalka [10]

Answer: The answer is that the phenotypic ratio among phenotypes produced from an F1 X F1 dihybrid cross is 9:3:3:1.

Explanation:

Independent assortment of genes explains how alleles on different chromosomes arrange independently of one another during gamete formation.

So, a dihybrid cross involving TWO characters (e.g Seed color & seed shape) would have its respective alleles DISTRIBUTED whether dominant or recessive, for crossing to occur and yield varying proportion of offspring in the well spread ratio of 9:3:3:1; making it a consequence of independent assortment of genes

The plants in a red-tailed hawk’s food chain produce 3 million kcal of chemical energy per day. How much energy is available to
KATRIN_1 [288]

The amount of total energy at each trophic level decreases as it moves through, so 90% is lost at each level. This means that only 10 percent of the energy at any trophic level is transferred to the next level; and the rest is lost as heat.

In this case, if a plant ecosystem has 3000000 kilocalories (kcal) of energy, about 300000 kcal will be transferred to primary consumers (for example grass hoppers). If the red-tailed hawks are tertiary consumers, they will get 3000 kcal of energy.

In 3-5 sentences, describe how paleomagnetic evidence supports the theory that continents change position (drift) over time.
Eduardwww [97]

The earth magnetic field changes direction and its strength varies from year to year. This results in magnetic anomalies within a rock body as magnetic elements and minerals records the changing direction of the magnetic field.

As new magma is brought near the mid-oceanic ridge, the older ones are pushed backwards and they show a different magnetic field direction from the cooling magma. This is usually evident in the orientation of the magnetic minerals.
