How would building a freeway through a forest most likely affect the forest ecosystem?

Biology

Answer:

It will act as a major barrier between populations on both sides of the freeway, thereby affecting the genetic diversity of the species inhabiting the forest habitats

Explanation:

A freeway may have important negative effects on natural ecosystems by contributing to their degradation and the loss of biodiversity. It has been shown that the freeways produce an irreversible habitat fragmentation capable of altering the genetic structure of the populations inhabiting the area where the freeway pass. In forest ecosystems, an alternative used to reduce the ecological impacts of the freeways is the development of forest corridors for effectively conserving the biodiversity by connecting areas on both sides of the freeway.

Soil erosion is a process where the top soil layer is washed away because of the effects of water or wind. An agricultural area
Lana71 [14]

Answer: Plant vegetation so that their roots hold the soil firmly.

Build walls around the farm area.

Add natural fertilizers to the soil.

Soil erosion is a process of removal of top layer of soil which get sediment at some other place due to the affect of agents like wind and water. The superficial upper layers of soil are rich source of nutrients and organic matter and active region for germination of seeds and plant growth. Soil erosion removes these superficial layers making soil less fertile or not fertile and less useful for plant growth.

Plants growing in a vegetation have roots which can hold the soil and will prevent soil erosion from wind and water or any other agent. Building of walls around the farm area will prevent flood water to get inside the farm area and hence, prevents soil erosion by water. Addition of natural fertilizers to the soil adds up nutrients to the soil which facilitate plant growth and plant roots hold the soil therefore, prevents soil erosion.

A stream of water holds thriving bacteria. If drought conditions caused the stream to dry up, how would the bacteria mostly like
Alexeev081 [22]

The answer is they produce endospores.

Explanation:

The endospores are dormant, non-reproductive, tough bacterial spores that ensure the survival of bacteria in adverse conditions.

During the environmental stress, such as starvation, desiccation, radiation and chemical treatment many bacteria form dormant endospores. These endospores germinate again when the conditions become favorable.

Hence, if drought conditions lead the stream to dry up, the bacteria that live there would produce endospores to survive.

Explain in detail how galen, a physician during the middle ages, expanded on hippocrates’ theory of the four humors and explain
Ann [662]
Hippocrates believed that there are four humors in human body which need balance for a healthy being. These were:
Blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile.
Galen expanded the idea of the humors and introduced four temperaments which were these:
choleric (hot / dry), melancholic (cold / dry), sanguine (warm / moist), and phlegmatic (cold / moist).
Another expansion Galen did was that he gave each humor/temperament physical and psychological qualities and said that even the food items have an association with the certain humor, those foods can effect certain humor in certain ways.
