Cost of 1 notebook is $ 1.85 and cost of 1 pen is $ 0.65

Solution:

Let "a" be the cost of 1 notebook

Let "b" be the cost of 1 pen

Given that John spent $10.65 on 4 notebooks and 5 pens

cost of 1 notebook x 4 + cost of 1 pen x 5 = 10.65

4a + 5b = 10.65 ------ eqn 1

Given that Ariana spent $7.50 on 3 notebooks and 3 pens

3a + 3b = 7.50 ----- eqn 2

Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2 to get the values of "a" and "b"

Multiply eqn 1 with 3

12a + 15b = 31.95  ---- eqn 3

Multiply eqn 2 with 4

12a + 12b = 30 ------ eqn 4

Subtract eqn 4 from eqn 3

12a + 15b = 31.95

12a + 12b = 30

(-) ---------------------

3b = 1.95

b = 0.65

Substitute b = 0.65 in eqn 1

4a + 5(0.65) = 10.65

4a = 7.4

a = 1.85

Thus cost of 1 notebook is $ 1.85 and cost of 1 pen is $ 0.65

What is the y-intercept of line MN?

What is the equation of MN written in standard form?
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

y-intercept of the line MN = 2

Standard form of the equation ⇒ x + y = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Coordinates of the ends of a line MN → M(-3, 5) and N(2, 0)

Slope of a line = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

                        = \frac{5-0}{-3-2}

                        = -1

Equation of the line MN passing through (-3, 5) and slope = -1,

y - 5 = (-1)(x + 3)

y - 5 = -x - 3

y = -x + 2

This equation is in the y-intercept form,

y = mx + b

where m = slope of the line

b = y-intercept

Therefore, y-intercept of the line MN = 2

Equation in the standard form,

x + y = 2

2. Juanita is asked to write the standard equation of a
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

It is not. Also use ^2 to represent squaring a number.

Step-by-step explanation:

First, USE ^2 FOR SQUARED

It is not correct.

The standard equation of a circle is (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2 where (h,k) is the center and r is the radius.

In your question the center is (-2,3) and the radius is the length of the line segment from the center to any pointon the circle. nd hey, it tells us a point on the circle is (-2,6).

Let's take it one part at a time. we know h and k so let's plug them in.

(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2

(x-(-2))^2 + (y-3)^2

(x+2)^2 + (y-3)^2

now r is the length of the line segment from (-2,3) and (-2,6). To get from (-2,3) to (-2,6) hopefully it is pretty obvious you just move up (so int he y direction) 3 spaces. this makes r = 3. int he formula we want r^2 and that is 9. The result is that the circle has a formula of:

(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

(x+2)^2 + (y-3)^2 = 9

The formula Juanita got is actually a hyperbola.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

10+20+40=70

70*0.8=7*10*0.8=56 L (We Deliver)

total area =2*(10+20)*40+2*10*20=2*30*40+400=2400+400=2800 cm^2

2800*0.02=28*100*0.02=28*2=56 L (Go Parcels)

From home, Mary’s work is two thirds along the way to training. Training is 2.5km from work. Mary normally goes to work, then tr
polet [3.4K]
First thing to do is to illustrate the problem, Since it was mentioned that work was along the way to training, the order is shown in the picture. Mary's home and workplace are nearer compared to her training center. It is also mentioned that the distance between work and home, denoted as x, is 2/3 of the total distance from home to training. The total distance is (x + 2.5). Thus,

x = 2/3(x+2.5)
x = 2/3 x + 5/3
1/3 x = 5/3
x = 5 km

Thus, the distance from home to work is 5 km. This means that Mary has to walk this distance twice to return home to get her shoes. Then, she will travel again the total distance of 5+2.5 = 7.5 km to get to her training center. So,

Total distance = 2(5km) + 7.5 km
Total distance = 17.5 km
