All cells share four common components:a plasma membrane: an outer covering that separates the cell's interior from its surrounding environment.cytoplasm: a jelly-like cytosol within the cell in which other cellular components are found.DNA: the genetic material of the cell.ribosomes: where protein synthesis occurs.

Words from my teacher.
No matter what the cell type, prokaryotic or eukaryotic, plant or animal, the cell membrane forms a protective barrier between the exterior environment and the interior of the cell.
1. scientist's can identify genetic disorders or diseases from studying DNA 2. scientists can possibly find cures for these causes by manipulating or experimenting with this DNA
