Answer:

the tone used in McNeil's oral history is confessional and the purpose seems to be that by making simple, humble statements the narrator is able to present his own morality and his struggles in statements and not as pleadings.

Explanation:

these excerpts are from a narrator who comes from a marginalized community engaging in a protest against the government. this kind of oration is known as deceptively simple.

on the surface, the text seems uninviting and simplistic. but the layer of rebellion is subdued by the matter of factly tone to become more of a defiance to which the common person can easily identify and sympathize with. It also shows the strength of the narrator by not betraying their emotions to the reader.

What is the effect of King comparing freedom movement to the flight of an airplane in paragraphs 10 and 11?
lapo4ka [179]

Martin Luther King, Jr. is such as important character not only in American, but in global society, because thanks to him may, unlike him, could live in a world where social status and, mainly, skin colour were not important. In other words, the impact of his acts influenced thousands of people.

Nevertheless, it is important to state that King was not alone in his fight for equality. So that, when recieving Nobel Prize, King gave a speech in which in a metaphorical way he thanked and recognised the work that other participants of the Freedom Movement had made. In this way, the well operation of an airplaine depends not only on the machine by itself, and neither on the pilot; but there are people on land managing and controlling so many different things that make possible the goal of transporting the plane and people to the destination successful. In that way, the plane can be related to the movement itself and King considered only as a pilot who need many other people working hard to achieve the destination that would be freedom.

The meadow which was covered with yellow, blue and white flowers was a beautiful sight. The native grasses were thriving because the whole area, barring only the pasture had become a registered nature reserve. In fact, it was so pretty that i tried to take a picture, but when i saw that, my phone battery had died. Disappointed, i walked back to the hotel to recharge it.

Faustus turns invisible and plays pranks on the Pope. If you could turn invisible for a day, what would you seek to change about
Anna11 [10]

If I could turn invisible for a day like Faustus does, I would like to use this power in order to gain more money.

This would happen in the following way. I would go to a bank and take money without anyone seeing me and the next day I would be rich. As I will have taken the money from the bank, like it were legal, no one would notice my fraud. I would choose to pursue more money and not power or fame, because I believe that for a rich person it is easier to pursue power or fame.

Read this claim from an argumentative essay about zoos.
Simora [160]

The claim refers to the assertion of something commonly without proof or evidence.

When writing an essay claims are generally made out of cultural common knowledge which is shared with the readers. An essay consisting of just common knowledge doesn't attract readers or interest them by stating what is obvious.

When providing a claim evidence is necessary which asserts "how do you know?"

Hence in the above claim, evidence which best supports is many animals die prematurely in zoos because they are exposed to infectious diseases.

As the claim declares the condition of the zoo for improving health conditions and safety. Due to unhealthy conditions animals die prematurely due to infections and diseases.
