Answer:

The least possible number of coins that Pirate Jack has is 77.

Step-by-step explanation:

i) let the number of coins in the piles for the parrots be x.

ii) therefore we can say that the total number of coins be 7x + 4

iii) let the number of coins in the piles for for the pirates be y.

iv) therefore we can say that the total number of coins be 11y + 4

v) therefore we can say that 7x + 4 = 11y + 4

vi) therefore 7x = 11y

vii) therefore the least possible number of coins that Pirate Jack has is equal to the LCM of 11 and 7 which is 77.

viii) x = 11 and  y = 7

A shoe factory produces 1.81 × 104 pairs of shoes each month. Estimate how many pairs of shoes the factory will produce if it ma
quester [9]

Answer:

2*10 ^6 shoes in 10 years

Step-by-step explanation:

1.81 × 10^4 pairs of shoes each month

1.2 × 10^2 months in 10 years

Multiply these together to determine the number of shoes in 10 years

1.81 × 10^4 * 1.2 × 10^2

We want to estimate so 1.81 is approximately 2 and 1.2 is approximately 1

2 × 10^4 * 1 × 10^2

Multiply the numbers

2*1 = 2

Add the exponent

10 ^ ( 4+2)

10 ^6

Put this back together

2*10 ^6

Out of 498 applicants for a job, 187 have over 10 years of experience and 127 have over 10 years of experience and have a gradua
Kitty [74]

Answer:

the probability that randomly selected applicants over 10 years of experience is 0.6791

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the probability that randomly selected applicants over 10 years of experience is as follows:

Total would be

= 187 have 10 + years experience

Now

P(graduate | 10+) = (graduate and 10+ years experience) ÷ (10 + years of experience)

= 127 ÷ 187

= 0.6791

Hence, the probability that randomly selected applicants over 10 years of experience is 0.6791

billy is creating a circular garden divided into 8 equal sections. The diameter of the garden is 12 feet. what is the area, in s
xxTIMURxx [149]
Area=πr^2

 find the area then divide by 8

we know that diameter=2radius or diameter/2=radius so
12=diameter
12/2=radius=6
subsitute
area=π(6)^2
area=36π
divide 36π by 8
36π/8=18π/4=9π/2π=4.5π
area of one section is 4.5π square feet or if we aprox pito 3.14159 then we get
4.5(3.14159)=area=14.1372 square feet or 14.14 square feet
