Mulligan Manufacturing Company uses a job order cost system with overhead applied to products at a rate of 150 percent of direct

labor cost. Required: Treating each case independently, selected from the manufacturing data given below, find the missing amounts. You should do them in the order listed. (Hint: For the manufacturing costs in Case 3, first solve for conversion costs and then determine how much of that is direct labor and how much is manufacturing overhead.) (Do not round your intermediate calculations. Round your final answers to the nearest whole dollar. Enter all amounts as positive values.)

Answer:

a) 25000 labor x 150% rate =37,500 overhead

b) total manufacturing cost:

12,000 +25,000 + 37,500 =  74,500

d) labor  = overhead / 1.5 = 18000 / 1.5 = 12,000

c) total less labor les maufacturing = materials

45,000 - 18,000 - 12,000 = 15,000

e) to solve for labor we express overhead in function of labor:

materials + labor + 1.5labor = total manufacturing

15,000 + 2.5 labor = 35,000

labor = (35,000 - 15,000) / 2.5 = 8000

f) overhead: 8,000 x 1.5 = 12,000

Table to fill:

Direct Material used

12,000    //   c    //   15,000

Direct labor

25,000  //   d   // e

Manufacturing overhead applied

a   //  18,000 //  f

Total current manufacturing costs

b   //  45,000   //  35,000

You have purchased 1 million shares in a restaurant chain venture. At this zero-stage investment, your company’s assets are $110
Drupady [299]

Answer:

(a) 1,370,000 shares

(b) 42.19%

Explanation:

Given that,

Shares in a restaurant chain venture = 1,000,000 shares

Price of each share = $1.00

(a) To raise the additional $1,370,000:

Shares will you need to sell:

= Additional amount ÷ Price of each share

= $1,370,000 ÷ $1.00

= 1,370,000 shares

(b) No. of Shares After investment:

= Shares need to sell + Shares in a restaurant chain venture

= 1,370,000 + 1,000,000

= 2,370,000 shares

Therefore, the fraction of the firm will you own after the VC investment:

= (Shares in a restaurant chain venture ÷ No. of Shares After investment) × 100

= (1,000,000 ÷ 2,370,000) × 100

= 0.4219 × 100

= 42.19%

Doyle’s Candy Company is a wholesale distributor of candy. The company services groceries, convenience stores and drugstores in
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

a) 275,000 boxed per year

b) sales price of $ 11.04

c) <em> sale volume in dollars 4.830.967,74</em>

Explanation:

selling price:   $ 9.60

Variable cost:  $<u> 5.76</u>

Contribution:   $ 3.84

Contribution Ratio: 3.84 / 9.60 = 40%

\frac{Fixed\:Cost}{Contribution \:Margin} = Break\: Even\: Point_{units}

1,056,000 / 3.84 = <em>275,000</em>

<em />

<em>If Variable cost increase by 15%</em>

<em>To keep contribution ratio at 40% then selling price should be:</em>

(<em>X - 5.76 x 1.15) / X = 0.40</em>

<em>X = $ 11.04</em>

To keep the same income but without changing price:

current income: (sales x contribution less fixed cost)

(390,000 x 3.84 - 1,056,000) = 441,600

contribution: <em>(9.60 - 5.76 x 1.15) / 9.60 = 0.31</em>

\frac{Fixed\:Cost + Target \: Income}{Contribution \:Margin} = Break\: Even\: Point_{units}

<em>(1,056,000 + 441,600)/ 0.31 = </em>

<em>1.497.600‬ / 0.31 =</em><em> 4.830.967,74</em>

Which is not a reason for supporting ethical relativism?
raketka [301]

This is not the reason why not support ethical relativism; Ethical relativism holds that there is a right and wrong, even though we do not agree about what is right and wrong and If people disagree about some moral matter, their disagreement will always be due to their having different moral values.
