Answer:

a. Profit margin of store = 1.5%

a. Profit margin of child is $3 because store is making 1.5% profit margin.

b.Return on equity ( store) = 9%

Explanation:

As we know that: Profit margin= (Operating income / Revenue ) * 100

                                        =    10.2 / 680 * 100

                                        = 1.5%  ( Store)

 Profit margin (child) =

ROE=?

Accounting equation: Assets = liabilities + equity

                       380- 270 = Equity

                       Equity = $110 (million)

As we know that: Return on equity = Net income / Shareholder equity

                                                       =  10.2 / 110

                                                       = .09 or 9%

Answer:

a. $0.98

b. 6,000 container

Explanation:

a. The computation of the incremental contribution margin per container is shown below:

= Drop selling price - total variable manufacturing cost - drop selling price × sales commission - sale value in raw form × basis

= $4.40 - $0.95 - $4.4 × 5% - 3 × 3 ÷ 4

= $0.98

b. The minimum number of containers of candy  sold each month is

= (Per month salary paid to sales person + Master candy maker salary) ÷ ( incremental contribution margin per container)

= ($2,000 + $3,880) ÷ $0.98

= 6,000 container

We simply applied the above formulas so that the a and b part could arrive

Fixed vs Variable cost preference. Bates operates a kiosk at a local mall, selling duck calls for $30 each. The variable cost to
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

Option 2 should be selected

Explanation:

Using a rational approach which option most benefit and have a minimum cost. We will use the break-even level here to decide which option should be selected.

Option 1

Price per call = $30

Variable cost per call = $18

Contribution = Sales  - Variable cost = $30 - $18 = $12

Fixed Cost = $15,000

Break-even point = Fixed cost / Contribution per call = $15,000 / $12 = 1,250 calls

Option 2

Price per call = $30

Variable cost per call = $18 + ( $30 x 10% ) = $18 + $3 = $21

Contribution = Sales  - Variable cost = $30 - $21 = $9

Fixed Cost = $9,000

Break-even point = Fixed cost / Contribution per call = $9,000 / $9 = 1,000 calls

Difference  = 1,250 calls - 1,000 calls = 250 calls

Option 2  is better option because it take 250 less calls to reach at break-even in the month. It should be selected.
