Let's start with day 1:

We know that Joe practiced from 6:30 to 7:05
An hour is 60 minutes
Joe practiced for the 30 minutes left in that hour and 5 minutes into the next

30+5=35

So, he was playing for 35 minutes on the first day

Now, we can do the same thing for the second day:

He started at 3:55 and ended at 4:15
An hour is 60 minutes
<span>Joe practiced for the 5 minutes left in the hour and the first 15 minutes of the next hour
</span>
5+15=20

Now we want to add the number of minutes he practiced for both days

35+20=55 minutes

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  (x +6)^2 +(y -4)^2 = 36

Step-by-step explanation:

The center is (-6, 4) and the radius is 6. Putting those into the standard form equation, you have ...

  (x -h)^2 +(y -k)^2 = r^2 . . . . . . center (h, k), radius r

  (x -(-6))^2 +(y -4)^2 = 6^2 . . . . numbers filled in

  (x +6)^2 +(y -4)^2 = 36 . . . . . . cleaned up a bit

Ethan bought 4 packages of pencils. After he gave 8 pencils to his friends, he had 40 pencils left over. How many pencils were i
swat32

Answer:

12 pencils in each package.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Ethan bought 4 packages of pencils.

No of Packages = 4

No of pencils given to friend = 8 pencils

No of pencils left over =40 pencils

∴Total Number of Pencils = No of pencils given to friend + No of pencils left over =40+8 =48

Total Number of pencils in each package = \frac{\textrm{Total Number of Pencils}}{\textrm{No Of Packages}}= \frac{48}{4}= 12 \ pencils
