Answer:

I = 2amps

Explanation:

Parameters given:

I = 4 amps when Vs=40 volts and Is=4 amps;

 I =1 amps when Vs=20 volts and Is=0

Determine the value of I when Vs=60 volts and Is = -2 amps

<u>SOLUTION</u>

Note that it is linear

If I = 1 amp when Vs = 20 and Is = 0 then

I = 2 amps when Vs = 40 volts and Is = 0 (linearity).

Hence,  I = 2 amps (4–2) when Vs = 0 and Is=4amps (superposition).

      thus, we can solve for I;

               I = 1(60/20) + 2(–2/4) = 3–1

                 = 2amps

Answer:

Realistic Group Conflict Theory

Explanation:

Realistic Group Conflict theory is a socio-psychological model of internal conflicts among groups.

These groups may compete for a scarce resources based on reality or perception.

These conflicts may be over political power, capital, or social status, etc.

According to this theory, in the competition, only one group wins over the scarce resources while the other has to lose.

Thus The reality show on the television showing two tribes competing for food and shelter where the success of one is the failure for the other is based on Realistic Group Conflict Theory.

Rama09 [41]

Answer:

Your question is lacking some information attached is the missing part and the solution

A) AB = AD = BD = 0, BC = LC

    AC = \frac{5L}{3}T, CD = \frac{4L}{3} C

B) AB = AD = BC = BD = 0

   AC = \frac{5L}{3} T, CD = \frac{4L}{3} C

Explanation:

A) Forces in all members due to the load L in position A

assuming that BD goes slack from an inspection of Joint B

AB = 0 and BC = LC from Joint D, AD = 0 and CD = 4L/3 C

B) steps to arrive to the answer is attached below

AB = AD = BC = BD = 0

AC = \frac{5L}{3} T,  CD = \frac{4L}{3}C

Answer:

Tech A is correct.

Explanation:

If a person is doing something dangerous in a shop, he should wear safety glasses to protect his eyes from danger and also wear leather shoes to protect himself from any electric shock. Leather boots will disconnect a person with direct earth and therefore he can save himself if he gets a electric shock.

An excited electron in an Na atom emits radiation at a wavelength 589 nm and returns to the ground state. If the mean time for t
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:   Inherent width in the emission line: 9.20 × 10⁻¹⁵ m or 9.20 fm

                length of the photon emitted: 6.0 m

Explanation:

The emitted wavelength is 589 nm and the transition time is ∆t = 20 ns.

Recall the Heisenberg's uncertainty principle:-

                                 ∆t∆E ≈ h ( Planck's Constant)

The transition time ∆t corresponds to the energy that is ∆E

E=h/t = \frac{(1/2\pi)*6.626*10x^{-34} J.s}{20*10x^{-9} } = 5.273*10x^{-27} J =  3.29* 10^{-8} eV.

The corresponding uncertainty in the emitted frequency ∆v is:

∆v= ∆E/h = (5.273*10^-27 J)/(6.626*10^ J.s)=  7.958 × 10^6 s^-1

To find the corresponding spread in wavelength and hence the line width ∆λ, we can differentiate

                                                    λ = c/v

                                                    dλ/dv = -c/v² = -λ²/c

Therefore,

      ∆λ = (λ²/c)*(∆v) = {(589*10⁻⁹ m)²/(3.0*10⁸ m/s)} * (7.958*10⁶ s⁻¹)

                                 =  9.20 × 10⁻¹⁵ m or 9.20 fm

     The length of the photon (<em>l)</em> is

l = (light velocity) × (emission duration)

  = (3.0 × 10⁸  m/s)(20 × 10⁻⁹ s) = 6.0 m

Annealing is a process by which steel is reheated and then cooled to make it less brittle. Consider the reheat stage for a 100-m
kodGreya [7K]

Complete question is;

Annealing is a process by which steel is reheated and then cooled to make it less brittle. Consider the reheat stage for a 100 mm thick plate (ρ = 7830 kg/m3, Cp = 550 J/kg K, k = 48 W/m K). The plate initially is at 200 °C and is to be heated to a minimum temperature of 550 °C. Heating is effected in a gas-fired furnace where the products of combustion at T∞ = 800 °C maintain a convection heat transfer coefficient of h = 250 W/m.K on both surfaces of the plate. How long should the plate be left in the furnace?

Answer:

860 seconds

Explanation:

We are given;

Initial Temperature; Ti = 200 °C

Minimum Temperature; T_i = 550 °C

T∞ = 800 °C

convection coefficient; h = 250 W/m².K

ρ = 7830 kg/m³

Cp = 550 J/kg K

k = 48 W/m K

Plate thickness = 100mm

Thus,L = 100/2 = 50mm = 0.05 m

Let's find the biot number from the formula;

Bi = hL/K

Bi = (250 × 0.05)/48

Bi = 0.2604

Now, lowest temperature in the slab is given as;

θ_o = (T_o - T∞)/(T_i - T∞)

θ_o = (550 - 800)/(200 - 800)

θ_o = 0.4167

Now, from online tables calculation, we can find the root of the biot number.

Thus, root of the biot number Bi = 0.2604 is;

ζ1 = 0.488 rad

Also, C1 is gotten as 1.0396

Now,formula for thermal diffusivity is;

α = k/ρc

α = 48/(7830 × 550)

α = 1.115 × 10^(-5) m²/s

Also, from online tables, f(ζ1) = 0.401

Thus, we can find the time the plate should the plate be left in the furnace from;

-(ζ1)²(αt/L²) = In 0.401

-(ζ1)²(αt/L²) = -0.9138

t = (-0.9138 × 0.05²)/-(0.488² × 1.115 × 10^(-5))

t ≈ 860 s
