Answer:

(a)

Mathematical Equation for break-even

F = QP - QV

Where

F = fixed cost

Q = Break-even quantity

P = Selling price

V = Variable cost

F = Q ( P - V )

Q = F / ( P - V )

Q = $327,030 / ( $630 - $300 )

Q = $327,030 / $330

Q = 991 units

(b)

Contribution Margin = Price per unit - Variable cost per unit

Contribution Margin = $630 - $300 = $330

Break-even Point in Units = Fixed Cost / Contribution margin per unit

Break-even Point in Units = $327,030 / $330 = 991 units

Explanation:

Mathematical equation use the the break-even equation which represent the behavior of each element towards the break-even point.

Contribution per unit method use the contribution of each unit to calculate the break-even point.

After eating four slices of pizza, you are offered a fifth slice for free. You turn down the fifth slice.
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

The correct answer is letter "D": marginal utility is positive for the 4th slice and negative for the 5th slice.

Explanation:

Marginal Utility refers to the additional benefit or satisfaction gained from consuming one more unit of a good or service. In economics, something has utility if it satisfies any consumer wants or needs whether for usefulness or pleasure. It is a subjective term.

If the marginal utility is positive, consumers would want to acquire more of the good or service but if negative they will stop consuming it. Thus, the marginal utility for the 4th pizza slice is positive but the marginal utility for the 5th slice is negative.

A company has a process that results in 24,000 pounds of Product A that can be sold for $8 per pound. An alternative would be to
Gnom [1K]

Answer:

It should sell Product A as it is.

the impact of procees further is a loss for 16,000

Explanation:

We will check if the further process is a viable option for hte company's cost structure

additional revenue

(14 - 8) x 24,000 = 144,000

additonal cost      (160,000)

differential              (16,000)

We can sale the poudns at 8 or process further to receive 14

the differential revenue is 14 - 8 = 6 per pound

then we multiply this by the amount of pounds we produce.

This give us an additional revenue for 144,000

Our additional cost ofr this process are 160,000

The cost are greater than the proceeds, it is not viable. It should sell Product A as it is.

Further process generates a loss for 16,000

Suppose a firm produces with a technology that exhibits constant returns to scale at all levels of production. The firm's inputs
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

Not change

Explanation:

In the long run we expect firms to earn zero profits. With competitive markets for both inputs and output, and with constant returns to scale, a doubling of all inputs would lead to twice as much output, twice as much revenue, and twice as much cost.
