Answer: Unconditioned Stimulus

Explanation:An Unconditioned Stimulus is a stimulus that triggers an Unconditioned response.

An Unconditioned response is a reaction that occurs naturally in response to a stimulus. It is usually not learned. For example, the rat that ran by is UNCONDITIONED STIMULUS while the screaming in response to the rat is the UNCONDITIONED RESPONSE..

This response is sually an automatic reflex and innate, and therefore, need not be learned. The concept of unconditioned responses was first defined by Ivan Pavlov.

Answer:

Conditioned stimulus

Explanation:

When Marianela was a young child and watching TV with her mother, a mouse ran by. Her mother screamed, scaring her. Subsequently, she has been afraid of mice. In this example, the mouse is the conditioned stimulus after it causes Marianela to become frightened." In classical conditioning, a conditioned stimulus is a previously neutral stimulus which now elicits a conditioned response (fear in Marianela) after it has become associated with an unconditioned stimulus (Marianela's mother's scream).

College students in many instances make a decision on where to live near campus based on price and the number of amenities avail
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

price

Explanation:

It will be easy to provide an example to better illustrate this. Lets suppose that a patient has been diagnosed with cancer and is trying to figure which between chemotherapy or taking drugs is the best treatment. The question this cancer patient is going to ask herself is which among the two will prolong her life. Thus, survival time is the response variable. In our case, the price is the response variable because it is the determining factor of where these college students will live. Amenities somehow affect the price and thus, it will act as the response variable. Price is what we are able to measure and the location which is the students' primary interest lies in our response variable

A group of psychologists was interested in knowing whether living environment had any effect on a student's grade point average
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

Answer:

Accept H0

Explanation:

A group of psychologists was interested in knowing whether living environment had any effect on a student's grade point average (GPA). They took a set of twins and randomly assigned one sibling of the twins to live in an urban area and the other to live in a rural area After one year, they computed the GPAs for the twins and looked at the differences. Then they calculated the test statistic, and the P-value was found to be between 0.20 and 0.25. With a 0.05 level of significance, we should accept H0, and conclude that there is insufficient evidence to suggest that a difference exists between the mean GPAs of the two living environments.

A p value that is less than or equal to 0.05 suggest strong evidence against the null hypothesis, so you reject the null hypothesis. A p-value greater than 0.05 indicates weak evidence against the null hypothesis, so you accept the null hypothesis. In this study, the null hypothesis will be "living environment has no effect on a student's grade point average (GPA)", and since the p value obtained from the study is greater than 0.05, we accept the null hypothesis.
